  • Our attack ... any concerns?

I know our goal line defence was immense but does anyone have concerns over our attack?

We squandered what few opportunities we had; generally fumbling the ball on the 1st or 2nd tackle or even in the play the ball (Mitchell!)

I became concerned early in the second half when we tried the infamous inside ball to Mini on the 2nd tackle.

Much to my surprise, and everyone else's I'm sure, he knocked it on!

Robbo also expressed his concerns in the press conference.

So if we are to win the comp we'll have to be far more clinical in attack.

Mate we tackled our ass off Saturday night. They would have been suffering some fatigue by the time we got in attacking situations.
For what it's worth, juniors knock on off the intercept was not a knock on. It's a shit rule that needs to get sorted. He placed the ball correctly and stumbled over it. In no way is that a knock on. I think we should start a petition to give to the NRL about it. We should have scored that set of 6 if it wasn't for that shit call

Manly defended as much as us, but looked the more likely to score, yet we did. We won't see a match like that for a long time again. Our attack can be potent, but out of the top 4, we rely on our defence the most.

Make no mistake, manly were awesome in defence as well. They defended like we used to in 2002.

No need to be concerned about our attack.

A lot of our attack comes off big runs from JWH with quick play-the-balls..

There were a lot of sets against Manly where we were bogged down in our own 20-30 for 5 tackles

Jennings and co are still there in the back line ready to finish..

I wasn't at the game, but it did seem as if Manly were allowed to stand a trifle offside when they had us pinned down close to our own line. How did it look at the game?

I reckon that Jennings is due for a few long range tries and/or runs to set tries up.

It was the same for both teams..

We were both up and in each others face before you could blink...

None whatsoever mate. Not only are Manly a great defensive side, but by the time our boys got the ball, they were absolutely Faaarked. SBW said as much in his post game interview.

                      Wisdom as always, PTB.
I think Robbo erred by not picking Liu for last week's match. With JWH out, we needed a couple of metre eaters. Kennedy was not dominate up the middle with his yards and this was compounded by Moa being injured in the first half. I think we need to consider the role of Kennedy. Does he have a place in the team and what role does he play with JWH, Moa, LOD.

Only thing I don't like about our attack is the oh so predictable high bomb on the last...would love to see some variations on the last play in the set.

All their energy was exhausted on defence.
                              The attack will come.
