Our attack ... any concerns?

I don't think our combinations and set plays have been great over the last month. I think it's more to do with us having a few injuries and suspensions which has hurt our continuity.

I wouldn't read too much into the other night. We were missing 3 of our best go forward guys and we were in our end all night. You get Jared back, hopefully Boyd and big Sam coming off the bench I'm telling you no one will stop us.

Nah we really don't. We need to continue doing what has worked for us all season and that's playing right up the middle on the back of our powerful forwrad pack and Jake Friend. In the weeks that we struggled leading up to the Souths game our biggest issue was playing with too much width and trying to go around other teams.

We're not Manly, in fact we're nothing like them. Trying to copy how they attack would be ridiculous.

This exact thread came up when we beat Brisbane 8-0, then we went on to score more points than any other side in the comp.

Lets not make ridiculous comments based on ONE game.

Our biggest issue on Saturday was not our attack it was our inability to control field position to put us in good attacking positions. Having a fit Moa who can play more than 20 minutes, getting JWH back, getting Cordner back & having got playing minutes into MK and LOD in the past fortnight after both had extended breaks on the sideline is going to result in stronger go forward and thus better control of field position.

I disagree, we can go up the middle against most teams during the regular season but against Storm and Souths it's suicide, their strength is the middle of the ruck, they are the masters at slowing down the ruck and playing through the middle. Souths and Manly pretty much dominated us up the middle but fortunately Souths bombed two or three tries and blew their opportunities while Manly cannot attack without Stewart.

To beat Storm, we will need second phase football with mixing up our attack with some ad lib footy, they will want us to go through their middle because their three man tackle routine will dominate us in the ruck. It isn't a coincidence that the teams that have beaten Storm and Souths have played a mix bag attack with a lot of offloads and dummy half running.

I was at the front of the members on the halfway line and what you have said is a lie..

Both teams could have been pinged for offside/going too early in nearly every set yet the refs let the game flow..

Manly played an incredibly good defensive game as well as us.

I believe there is very bad referring and terrible inconsistencies with decisions but conspiracies involving fair treatment of teams in baloney. If us and Souths get to the Grand final then it's because they are the two best performing teams in season 2013.

I think you get a better judgement of offside being at the game, tv focus is around the play the ball, and it does not span out enough to get a good look at majority of offside plays, let alone being able to judge the difference between the ref having a team back 10m or 12m.

When our big guys get rolling up the middle is when we dominate. Like against Souths. We were regularly making massive ground, mainly through the likes of JWH, Moa and FPN just rolling through the middle. Without JWH on Sat, predictably we lacked the same punch up the middle. Manly we're obviously enjoying him not being there and were teeing off in defence. With him back everything falls into place. As long as he doesn't do anything stupid and get suspended again we are very hard to beat. If Cordner makes it back that really is the icing because it basically gives us two SBWs in attack which makes us close to unstoppable.

I have watched the replay of the game and I can assure you, half the time you can gauge offside and line-speed and most importantly you can see how far a side is being taken back by the ref in defense from the telecast!

The difference between you and I is that my eyes aren't painted on, I see everything that goes on and am not naive! You can be happy to be served the crap which is dished out and lap it up, I shall pass thanks!!

Yes, manly's defense is good, but it certainly was made to look even better when they don't have to go back as far as us in defense and at times leave early! You underestimate how bloody good our attack is, which is the best in the comp! We were not given a chance to use it by the way the game was reffed!

Looks like we will very much agree to disagree! So be it, no dramas I am happy to leave it at that.

I will certainly enjoy the finals, after we win, just not one's where $ouff$ are involved and get major favors done for them by the refs and video refs!

I believe there is very bad referring and terrible inconsistencies with decisions but conspiracies involving fair treatment of teams in baloney. Toovey was spot on when he called for an investigation into what was going on!! Shane Flanagan came out and backed Toovey.

I can gaurantee you if you asked Robbo if we are being given a rough deal he will certainly say so. To Robbo's credit he is like a Jedi master, with amazing self control otherwise he would be doing what Toovey does! He has mentioned a few things in his press conferences but always while keeping his cool and not going over board. I have seen him go off a bit in the coaches box when we are given one of our rare penalties. One time he bashed on the window and shouted out f**king finally! Do you think he is doing this for the good of his health, or for no particular reason??? He is doing this because even he gets extremely frustrated with the bull$hit that he witnesses!!

I personally know a player manager who fills me in with what he thinks and hears, which is along the same lines of what I say in here!

You are a simple naive fool to think that everything that goes $ouff$ way on the field, along with match scheduling and the judicary, and then everything that goes against us on the field, with match scheduling and the judicary is just all a massive coincidence!!

Thursthead is a self interested QLD carnt who like most players who will chuck a tanty when it suits.

Cos I didn't hear that bullshit out of his mouth last year when NSW were ripped off in that Origin series.

How he wasn't fined and Henry is beyond reason.

Reffs will make errors. That particular one came in the first 1/2. The players didnt even know about it, as didnt anyone other than Paul Bowman, the bean counter. The Cowplods had plenty of chances to win that game and weren't quite good enough. Period.
