Amazing how our discipline gets worse when we are away
    We are an outlier.

Our stats in so many of these categories are such an anomaly that it has to be more than a coincidence. Basically I think we've become the victim of unfair and systemic "tip sheets" over many years of bad referee management. And its now part of the refereeing culture to assume that we're ill-disciplined, as well as unworthy of penalties ourselves.

We're like the barbarians. Painted as savages over centuries by the Romans to the point where it's largely taken as fact that they were evil heathens, devoid of culture across generations.

We should change our name to the Sydney Barbarians.

Sterling work, Tommy. I've been thinking of doing something like this, myself, but lacked the discipline.

The figures are nothing short of jaw-dropping.

          Thanks, Tom.

Yeah it's taken me a few weeks. Compiling mountains of excel pages of penalty counts wasn't exactly exciting to I've done it piece by piece so avoid boredom.

But im enjoying the fruits of the hard labour now by compiling all the damning graphs!

Easts should pay you for that sort of inflammation.

Thank you morley101, you rest my case and there are plenty more like that one and similar to JWH's but so far only JWH has copped any type of reprimand over the "bumper" tactic. WHY?????

Some of those numbers are Beyond belief?

won penalty by over 2 : 47 for Cronulla just 7 for us - incredible!

Cronulla must be a highly disciplined side

Lost the penalty count by 5 or more. Cronulla just 2, Brisbane and vermin 4 times - us 19 times!

If it wasn't so sickening you'd laugh!

Love your work Tommy...ive kept going with my stats analysis also. In general however what none of the raw figures show in the overall counts, is the timing of the penalties in the game and their influence, the 'square up' of the count which we see occurring, so how much worse would our figures be when that is accounted for?

Anway for this year the ref pairing for our game this week is Hayne/Klein. We have only had that pairing once this year. Against the Storm round 11 for a loss 26-18. Penalty count 8-6 to the storm. Our first penalty received was in the 19th minute and nothing after the 60th minute. Penalties against us mini in possession min 1 , kennedy holding down min2 , maloney foul 13 min, Maloney holding down29 min, guerra crusher tackle min 41 Friend play the ball hands 75 min, O'Donnell high tackle 79 min.

Our worst penalty differential this year , round 26 against Souths , Klein and Cecchin refs, penalties 12--5 against us. Next worst against Newcastle round 20 , penalties 14-9 against us. Refs Maxwell/Morris.

                      Whats it mean?

Souths and Newcastle good penalty records against us but we won both times. Our defence can and hopefully will continue to triumph over the extra tackling we are forced to endure.

I agree with some of the earlier comments , particularly stsae that the disclosure of tip sheets has caused focus to be unfairly maintained on us and the old cliche give a dog a bad name and it sticks , seems to be the major concern in spite of the massive turn over of players and under new coaches over time !

I dont believe there is a conspiracy, otherwise against Souths they could easily have chosen to deny Maloneys try and say he was tackled ( eventhough he wasnt) and allowed Southd try and chosen to ignore the bumping of Tupou.

Hopefully these major try determing decisions are correct unlike the major errors of the 2010 Grand final !

Further proof of our lack of penalties received. But we don't hear the media beat on about this all the time.
