  • What a Great Year!!!!

Just want to say that regardless of the result on Sunday its been an absolutely fabulous year. The ride has been an amazing, exhilarating thrill. The premiership would be the icing, whipped cream, happy ending to the season and I'm confident the boys will get the job done. But regardless, I love what the club has become this year and I thank Nick Politis for having the kahunas and foresight to bring the greatest footballer/athlete I have ever seen to the club, as well as the courage to back a relatively inexperienced coach. I thank the players for having the faith and belief in the club and its ideals and I thank all my fellow chook penners for helping me to enjoy the incredible highs and then laugh my way through the few low periods that we have had to experience.

In summation, in the words made immortal by a Roosters legend...Easts to win!!!!

I can't remember a year like it, from the moment Robbo took charge of this lot we have looked good, played great and appeared to be so united

When I went to the trial at Gosford in Feb this year...coincidently against Manly too, I could sense such a positive vibe about the joint. Its just been such a great year....the highs heavily outweighing the lows. That even after a defeat you could sense the that the defeats were good for the team as they appear to have learnt from each of those losses.

Just like Billy Gunn I cannot remember a year quite like this one...even the Freddy years.

Unlike some other GF weeks in which I have gotten so nervous as a supporter I am really going to enjoy this week. Its so great to be a Rooster!!!!

      EASTS!!!!

I remember being vehemently against SBW coming here. I thought Trent Robinson was just going to be Brian Smith light. I was even against Maloney coming here, thinking Shaun Johnson was the better half.

I now gleefully accept the crap sandwich I have to eat.

It's a strange feeling, I haven't really been nervous heading into any of the finals games this year.

I think there's an underlying confidence and acknowledgement that 1) This team will always be prepared to the best of their ability by Robbo & co. and 2) That this isn't going to be the short term success like it was in 2010.

This season has already surpassed all expectations and a Grand Final to go with the minor premiership and Club championship would just be the ultimate icing on the cake.

I don't feel as nervous, either -- but maybe it's just because after the Dragons loss in 2010 I promised myself that I'd never let my expectations get out of hand ever again.

This is different to the other successful years.
At the beginning I had no expectations, I was excited and I had hopes but I didn't expect anything.
As the season progressed I was impressed, I was happy, but I still didn't expect anything.
Thought the finals I hoped we would win, I knew we could, but I didn't know what was going to happen.

Now we are at the GF, I am over the moon. I am so relieved $ouff$ are not there not because I am scared of them but I am not convinced they would have deserved it and I believe certainly didn't deserve the minor premiership. I am excited and will be very proud if we win or don't win. Manly will be very tough, I think the best 2 sides at the moment are in the GF and it will be a cracker. The Roosters can definitely win this but it will not be easy.

The biggest thing I think about this season is that the team is not close to reaching their potential especially in attack.
They are doing well, but I think can take it to another level.

Hopefully that will happen at around 6.30pm on Sunday!
