I have no arguments with Lyon over Jenko, that was toss of a coin IMO.
Yay Robbo.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

From watching it for years now they do it on points when the position is involving the potential winners.Last edited by fitzy; 10-02-2013, 09:05 AM.

The Brownlow system where refs put in their 3-2-1 after each games would be more appropriate in my view

I like what they do in American sports for MVP awards have a one off vote from journo's and commentators. Makes it much fairer.

Personally I thought the Dally M awards last night was an embarrassment for the NRL.
Tony Squires was absolutely pathetic as a host. He seemed nervous, unsure what to say at times and star struck. He hasn’t improved since he hosted the Olympics and that was bad enough.
Russell Crowe tried to be funny and make the whole thing about himself with his poor excuse at humour (think the 320 votes comment).
David Smith makes a speech and at times paused; waiting for applause but none was forthcoming.
Paul Whittaker gets on stage; blows sunshine up Crowe’s backside and in the same breath kicks Andrew Demetriou in the head for some reason. Couldn’t figure that one out.
The Peter Frilingos Memorial Award for Headline Moment of the Year goes to the squirrel gripping, sign post wrecking, windscreen smashing wankers. Why?
Rob Mills as John Travolta and some scrubber trying to be Olivia Newton John? I got more entertainment from watching re runs of an ‘Old Spice’ ad stsae posted here a couple of weeks ago.
The awards themselves were hard to follow, there was no fluency and what interviews there were with the winners were a waste of time. And as they ran out of time they couldn’t even present the awards for 5/8th and half back of the year. I think the NRL could take a leaf out of the AFL’s book re: All Australian Awards and the Brownlow Medal.
On the positive side, congratulations to Robbo, Cortaner (as that idiot on stage pronounced it), RTS and Maloney.
And finally, at least Smith was humble in winning the Captain’s speech acknowledging Mini should have won it.
I feel better now."Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

The whole thing is a farce anyway.
Aren't the winners decided by votes cast each game by news ltd 'journalists'?
If you read the list of rothfield's tips for this season, (I think he got 1 out of 13 correct) it's a perfect indication of how little they know.
I'd like to think that's why the boys didn't want to be interviewed.

The Tv Week Dally M awards.
I was surprised Karl Stefanovic and Rebecca Gibney didn't win awards last night. And that Love My Way didn't win best show even though it went off the air roughly around the same time as Number 96.SUPER DRAGON!
