  • The myth that is Brett Stewart

Ok the guy is a great fullback but gees it's annoying when People say that if Stewart played in the semi we had with them then Manly would've won. Really? People do not think that maybe just maybe we would've adjusted our defense to deal with him. If I remember correctly Stewart played against us at the SFS when we tanned their backside. What people never seem to say is that when we beat Manly 4-0 we did it without JWH. They don't think that with him in the team we get much better go forward not to mention the 2nd phase play he creates with his offloads. I say to Manly bring it on. We'll be at full strength on Sunday and so will they, I reckon we'll flog them.

Yes what an insult to Peter Hiku. Manly fans are up themselves. I reckon SBW will have the game of his life. If I supported Manly I'd be worried.

        Ray you're talking sense again.
I'm assuming you took my advise and 'met' with a hooker??
Nice to see you've stopped the Pearce bashing too.

We are not going to lose due to Brett Stewart playing.
I don't think I've ever been this confident going into a GF.

            Not even against Penrith?
            I feel the same way.

Yep, Manly fans are kidding themselves if they think they'll beat us just because Stewart is playing. They've had excuses every time we've beaten them, could it be that we're the better football team? Just putting it out there.

I'm confident because we've been the best team all year, and we have the wood over manly this year. That's confidence.
We were cocky in 03, and I think the players felt that, and that's why we lost.
                Confidence, not cockiness.

If we play with the intencity required then we'll win and I have to say I haven't been this confident of a gf win since 1975.

I wish I could say I was confident, I mean we are a great footy team with weapons all over the park. But Manly are also a damn good team, and really know how to perform on the big stage.

I seriously can't even bring myself to watch anything about the GF as I am that bloody nervous.

I am usually always a cup half full guy, but I can seen those bastards breaking our hearts and winning a tight one by 2-6 points. I will be more than happy to eat a whole humble pie and issue a full blown public apology if I am wrong, hell I'll even donate to the Steggles Charity Nest Egg but I just have a really bad feeling.

C'mon Roosters please prove me wrong.

The difference between 2003 and now is that none of the players have fond memories of their time at Manly as in they have no history with Manly.

Does anyone really believe that Freddy ever got over being a Penrith boy?

Not at all. He may be an Easts Hall Of Fame'r, but he still has a huge soft spot for the Panthers.

I am judging this GF at face value and what I've witnessed and there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't win this GF and win it well.

                            Even Brett Kimmorley picked us.
