Watching the footy show last night and seeing the chooks team on their I couldnt help but notice how different the chooks were to the Eagles players.
Our blokes were very composed, confident and very relaxed .The Manly blokes looked liked nervous wrecks except for a a couple of them.
Always a good sign .This was same like last year when Melbourne and Bulldogs hit the stage last year .I said to some friends the next day Melbourne to win comfortably they are switched on you can see it in there body language
People ,The Might Chooks are switched on - believe

Switched on is meaningful words to league blokes .Coaches use it a lot .I remember in 02 Gould saying the Roosters were switched on for the GF .Come 03 .They hype against the Bulldogs semi was all they wanted .Ricky Stuart the next week was worried believed his team wasnt switched on ,mentally burned in the last semi.
All comes down to AC/DC ...Flick of the switch...hehehe

We can only lose this one if we had our worse performance of the year, and odds are we'll be right on the ball.. We've been switched on for all bar a handful of games this year..

Brainiac I watch these things and I've found it generally means zip.

I recall especially 2010 how relaxed our boys looked all week, laughing at the GF brekky and playing up for the camera, whereas the Stains blokes looked very nervous, like their coach they looked like they didnt get to finish their morning constitutional.

But when it came down to actually playing we know the result.

I'm only commenting cos I thought the exact thing in 2010. I thought they'd choke cos they looked like they were bricking it all week. And I thought we looked free of pressure and relaxed. I thought it would be enough to get us across the line.

I believe it's not about the amount of pressure applied its how you handle and react to that pressure.

As long as we play our best footy on Sunday I believe we will win well. We just have to perform not crack.

Saints were nervous and played like shit in the first half.

If we lead 14-0 like we should of it could of been a different story.

I was going to say similar ... the leg ups they got from the officials, certainly helped them get over any nerves they had.

                        True mate.

But in the end we couldn't maintain and they knew it.

Thing is that season, like this, we had to overcome adversity in games more often than not. We were used to shit not going our way and were able to get it done.

But Waynekerr knew. He knew Bwaiff and Carntey had the fragile eggshell mind thingy going on.

                        They targeted our weak links.

I'm sure womanly will target PearceOrf and Baloney. They have copped it since origin and to be fair they deserved some of that criticism. Both have had their issues with confidence in the past IMO.

I think from what the coaching staff has shown this season they know where it's coming and how on Sunday.

We will be as ready as possible.

Just gotta actually win the game now.

I think nerves are good. It's natural. It's how you harness the nervous energy that counts.

The big catchphrase concerning the 2010 grand final was how relaxed our team was. I would prefer our players were not relaxed but rather anxious to get out on to the field and win.

I agree on wanting the players to be a bit nervous and anxiuous, but not until the day before or the morning of the match. If the boys are anxious all week, there is the potential for them to be nervous wrecks by game time (like many of the fans - me included!).
