I never thought this skinny winger in 2000 would become a grand final winning captain. The guy is a true legend of this club. 6 Grand Finals, Grand Final winning captain. He is a living legend. He deserves to be up there with Freddy, Ricko, Fitzgibbon and Morley as modern day Eastern Suburb Hall of Famers.

When he lifted that trophy it was the greatest feeling in the whole world. I'm glad he is our captain.

I apologise to Mini for saying he should have moved to wing, earlier this year.

I changed my opinion after he was injured and realised how monumental the FB role is in the modern game after seeing RTS really struggle.

Mini, I am sorry for doubting you. You are a champion and deserving Premiership captain of this great club.

Best tasting humble pie I've ever eaten!! At the start of the year I did not think he should playing fullback. At the back end of last year his body looked past it and he was in terrible form. But absolute credit to a roosters legend! He knew he had to work on his game just like the rest of the squad and being the hardest trainer in the whole bloody squad and a man with more experience than any other fullback in the comp I should have known he would work his butt off on all the weaknesses in his game and consolidate his strengths.

Sorry for doubting you Mini! You're a champion of a bloke, an excellent captain and a true contributor in every sense of the word!! And that final tackle on Tafua symbolised what you've done as captain this year. When you lead, all follow!! You deserved every bit of last night mate!!

I did say something down the lines for him to move to winger but was I wrong. what a champion as the whole is aswell but I shredded a tear when I saw Mitchell pearce cheering and crying, he absolutely deserved that aswell for what happen to him this year

I've watched this a few times now, Maloney slows down quite considerably just as he passes; hence the pass looks more forward.
