I hope the boo's were directed at the judges ! DCE played out of his skin but what an abysmal decision .. MOA should have got the CC for mine as he not only produced his best of the season with great hitups IMO the turning point was when he hung onto the ball after that bone cruncher of a tackle from George Rose right next to Manly tryline. The next play Guerra gets the try that had us back in the game.. Think if Moa loses that ball, Manly lift another notch and I reckon we may not have been able to fight back..

Personally I don't believe anyone was actually booing DCE himself, the booing was more based around the decision. Whilst there are scummy fans everywhere, normally our fan base is pretty bloody well behaved (normally) and I highly doubt that any Easts fan that knows the game of rugby league would not acknowledge that DCE was their best last night.

The only way I could care less is if that it was Death's Head Bennett writing that article.

I do respect DCE but not the judges decision.

About the smith thing, i have nothing to say, he took things away from me that i will never be able to get back.

Well we can't always like it when he is saying something good and dislike it when he says something bad. let him say what he wants...with that said, it's only booing. It's not like a riot broke out and seats where torn off an hurled into the ground. What next, are we supposed to clap and throw rose petals? I think some people just look for every opportunity to have something to whinge.

I wasn't booing DCE, I was booing whoever made the decision.

              Nothing against DCE

But there should be no respect for those that awarded it to him, they are the real clowns in this circus
                    Have to agree.

DCE was bloody good out there.

I was sh!tting myself every time he had the ball.

I kinda agree, I didnt like the choice that was made but out of respect i did clap anyway. We won the GF, Lets not get greedy.

But in saying that, Smith writing that the day after the win and about his former fans is also disrespectful.

That's taken us a long way to winning the comp.
                        Comment of the year:

Remember he had Braith rammed down his throat and look where that got us bloody nowhere have alook at the Tigpies this year with Braith same as us last year. I agree some of the Kudos go to BS as well and I am sure TR alluded to that in his press conference.

Are these the same 'poor' fans who stood and applauded an injured Danny Buderus as he was carried off the field last week ?

I'd say it was more a boo at the decision makers and not DCE himself. He played well, but not such a standout as to deprive a player from the winning team.
The best ever performance by a player in a losing team was Luke Phillips in 2000 ... a mile in front as the best player on the field, but because his side lost, he was not awarded the Churchill medal ...or so it was explained back then.

I don't think anyone was directing their booing towards DCE, instead at the judges. I think that showed when Lyon went up on stage and a lot of that booing turned to clapping out of respect. DCE deserved a lot more respect than what he was shown. It was pretty poor form really regardless of who people who booing at. For what it's worth I didn't think he deserved the award. IMO Foran played better in both attack and defence. Their try to get out 10 ahead was all thanks to Foran running to the line before passing and getting us at sixes and sevens. Even though I hate the bloke with a passion, Watmough was very good last night. On our side it would have been out of Moa and SBW. Had Sonny Bill made one less pushed pass in the first half he probably wins it. He's also I victim of his consistency. He was a machine in defence last night. His only error was not waiting long enough for Guerra to make it to A defender meaning he rushed in for their last try. His runs in the second half got us back into the game and eventually won it for us.

One more aerial try by Tupou though and I reckon he might have had it and I would have cleaned up after checking a lazy 20 on him at $51 for CCM haha
I agree with Yak. I felt embarrassed for DCE. He had a great game and although I hate Manly I really rate this team. For me that is what has made the victory even sweeter on top of the minor premiership and the 4 previous victories over them this year. I thought it was a bit of a slap in the face not awarding the CCM to a Rooster. An individual may stand out on a loosing team but often it is hard to choose the best on a winning side because, after all, it is a team game. However, I'm sure they could have found someone... Moa for mine.
