I've been a long time member here, don't post much,but have been a Hugh fan of JrJr from day one.
He has been the life blood of this team for years, and the most maligned.
He has been in some pretty average sides, and expected to carry them.
When we get beat, it's JrJr's fault (sometimes warranted )
This year has been his making, tried to overplay his hand before, but after Robbo got into his head, he now sits back, reads the play and directs the team around.
I thought last night he was brilliant.
Made his first error in judgement with 3minutes to go. Should have rolled the ball into goal instead of a ball in the air.
But all the naggers have been quiet today.

I initially thought he was a contender for CCM, but upon getting home and watching replays, I would probably give it to either Maloney, Moa or JWH.

I still think he played well. He seemed calm in the first 20 while others were nervous. His passing game was good and his kicking game was excellent. He ran the ball, which was good, and he seemed to be directing the team well.

He just couldn't find that killer blow, when we had one last attacking opportunity near the end of the game. 32-18 sounds better than 26-18.

I'd give him a 7.5/10.

He was everything you want your halfback to be in a big game.

Kicked well, directed the team well, ran the ball to keep the defence honest and when he was required to at 18-8 he set up the try we so desperately needed.

Not to mention a couple of try savers.

Don't expect too much recognition from the general RL public though he's the scapegoat for NSW's failure.

I thought he was the second best player on the park in the major semi after Guerra and in the Grand Final he was very solid.

He must have the biggest smile of vindication on his face right now. Onya Pearcey!!

He said he was reading Twitter on Gameday with most people critisising him or expecting him not to show up to a big game once again.

So glad he has got that big win under his belt. In his words, I definitely think he has the right to "stick it up" his critics now.

You never really admitted to being wrong as you said you would wait until the big games before making judgment. Pearce had failed repeatedly in the past when it mattered so his criticism was vindicated. Maloney had fewer opportunities to do so. Are you convinced yet about Tupou?

I admitted to being wrong about our inability to win a premiership with Maloney as our 5/8 very early. In fact I shared my optimism after Round 1.

I still have a few questions over Tupou. His aerial ability has come a long, long way. It was almost Folauesque on Sunday night but there's still a lot he can improve on. His carries being the most noticeable thing on Sunday night, I hear they'll be working on his running style over the off season so I'm interested to see how he'll come on in 2014. He just seems to continually grow as a player every week so I find it hard to be critical but I'm still not 100% sold that his ability or rather potential matches the hype that he gets on here.

Jnr Jnr worked extremely hard. Pulled nothing out of his ar$e. Major focus on 1%ters and keeping vital signs up esp when Manly were running riot. I call that influence on a team ... and a result...

DCE - He was brilliant (while Jake was off) but very paniced and individualist which never reaps dividends. As was proven!

PS....The sooner NSW rids itself of dinasours such as BobMc & Bozo the better. All they are good at is continually picking 'safe' with the like of Gallen/Bird/Lewis who somehow achieve legendary status while in reality thay are old and fat former backs dressed up as forwards.

IMO Maloney is a far better player this year than he was with the Warriors.
He's a better goalkicker too.

Pearce is a better player this year also, especially after Origin.

Brilliant post, I was a Pearce doubter before. I was more frustrated than actually doubting him. Also the negative sentiment of the general rugby league community and lack of success with very inferior forward packs and no real coaching assistance in most of the past seasons help cloud my head. He has become more mature and Robbo has taught him calmness and composure as he always had the basic ingrediants to be a successful half.

Interesting thought....if DCE was Pearce in the Manly team and had the identical game to DCE, would have he got the CCM or would have he been panned for panicking etc and failing to stand up in the big games?

There is an overwhelming opinion that Pearce had a poor game on Sunday night which I found astounding.

His control of the match imo was top shelf and I thought he was the CCM personally. His vision to hold the pass up for a second before firing to Guerra to score, his kicking game turned Manly around, he kept the defense honest by running the ball and he even scored a repeat set!

I actually agree.

The reason he is playing well is he is no longer " Over playing " and : Over anaylising " the situation

He is being patient and selective, too words i would never have used in the past to describe the Teflon One
