I am in serious disbelief that someone who is charged with the honour of deciding the MOM for the grand final and holds such a position as national selector would come out with such baseless petty attacks on our players to justify his decision. The patheticness of his comments basically confirm the bias we all thought.

Lets not forget DCE's dismal kicking game, he was bombing to Tupous wing the whole game, he found mini on the full more often than not, Hit FPN twice in a row trying to clear the ball, SBW ran through him to set up Maloney.

And his only 2 try scoring efforts came when Moa, JWH, Friend and Cordner were off the field.

BUt lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story.

I think alot of this award was because of Tim Sheen's comments on NRL 360, when quizzed about our halves he said " if someone comes out in the GF and has a great game and wins a CCM, if would be very hard not to select them"

That offload for Maloney to set up the third try, that linebreak leading up to the 4th try that sealed the game, the fantastic bomb defusal near the posts, his excellence defence & his continual yardage carries all happened in the last ten minutes? Really Bob? I mean I was a nervous wreck in the final 10 minutes and it felt more like an hour but even my recollection of the game is better than that, a few too many whilst watching the game maybe? While Moa had a fantastic game, to win a Churchill playing at prop you really have to dominate. Kites game where he won his Churchill was a dominant performance. I'm taking nothing away from Moa here, he was our best but he wasn't what you would call dominant.

Always been a farce though. Chosen by veteran players who usually haven't had anything much to do with coaching or playing or anything much for a long long time. And they have to come up with the winner before the game is even finished. Recipe for joke decisions all round.
Ridiculous they didn't just give it to Maloney. Such a safe and easy option. A few try assists, 5 from 5, no one would have been able to argue much with that.
