  • SBW lining up boxing title fight for january

on the back of the news of making himself available of the Kiwis for the world cup.

rules out a stint in Japanese rugby and with the super 15 kicking off mid February so he would miss all the trials/pre-season, could this be the sign of a possible 2nd year at the Roosters.

Could be worse. One could wake up next to Gai Waterhouse; of course if you're Jack Woltz then it's six of one, half a dozen of the other

If true this is very promising with regards to him staying at the roosters.

So if thats the case, what other scenario's are there? That doesnt leave him with a lot of other choices.

Fletch last time he played Rugby he had an off season fight too and missed some trials. I even read that the NZRU were happy for him to play the RLWC before rejoining them.

I don't know if anything has changed. I hope I'm wrong but I think he is gone. If he stays we should be 3-1 to win the premiership in 2014.

                      Fingers crossed.

I'm not excited, I think the news that he's still boxing is terrible.

Hopefully he'll dance around the ring and not get hit much.

When he fought Botha he was about to get his lights well and truly smashed out, then the bout was abruptly ended.
"One punch can kill"...someone should tell him and talk him out of boxing.

He's got it all at the moment.
Ali had it all, and look how he's finished up.

                        Boxing...baaah!
                        Should be banned.

                        Boxing...oh so 'yesterday'.
                        Oh so much brain damage.

"Shuffling Sonny Bill" he'll likely be if he keeps boxing...given what we know today about hits to the head.

I still say Sonny was class in that fight and was well on top until Botha got extremely dirty and hurt him. I say let Sonny do whatever the hell he wants.

Also one thing no one has considered is that he might be tired and want to take a rest. He is only human and it has been some time since he got a rest. He might even need a surgery or two?

Boxing in the off season is not a rest...all he'll do is get more injuries.

The money from boxing is not worth it...as he'll find out.
If he keeps boxing, his massive dream will be to actually be able to get out of bed at all and then remember where the fridge is.

What, 3 premierships in a row with the Roosters is not enough of a massive dream?

Botha barely threw a punch in those first 8 rounds. Sonny was gassed in the final 2 and was lucky that the fight didn't go on for another 20 seconds (or 2 rounds depending on who you listen to.) Now all I need to see is Mundine get knocked out by Sugar Shane and my birthday month will be complete
