  • EASTS TO WIN shout out the crowd

Whilst there are some great football brains on the forums and I love the serious analysis that goes on here at times, everyone needs to make some time for at least a couple of weeks to keep celebrating our great win before heading back into the serious end of it all such as the implication of player retention, etc, etc.

The time between wins and the celebrations around them can be something else. It was 27 years after my childhood 1974 and 1975 grand finals until the 2002 win and another 11 years until last weekend.

i have just spent the time this week watching and rewatching highlights from the GF and games during the year and more replays and still getting a great buzz out of it.

Well done to all the chookpen members who did there bit to create a great atmosphere at the game and a particular shout out to those who kept the faith over last couple of difficult seasons leading up to this year.

following a team is as much about the journey as the destination, although the destination this year was something special.

    GO EASTS

nice post man. I agree. I can't be bothered with 2014 just yet. Lets savour this while we can.

I've watched the full replay bout three times so far, and watched the last 25mins bout ten times now.
When they show the slow motion replay of Jennings grounding the ball and freeze it as he grounds it cms inside the dead ball line, the crowd's cheer as they freeze the pic is spine tingling .... never get tired of replaying it !

Yep absolutely Hawkeye - my son kept talking to me after the game about the awesome superman dive from Jennings - that try is just magic.

I am still soaking up the win and bathing in the afterglow of an Easts premiership which haven't come around too often in memory. Just two in the last 39 seasons. I'm wearing the jersey and have will have the flags on the car until Christmas & reminiscing about last Sunday out at Homebush.

Waiting for the DVD and wanna buy some more memorabilia.....its going to be a great summer

Don't really wanna come down to earth and talk about the serious football stuff just yet.

If the RAAF is looking for a new aircraft, they should recruit Jenko Air express

Great point. Let's savour this. I've been watching this year's highlights since the start of the finals. Time to watch the Grand Final again. I admit it will only be the third time although I've watched the highlights many times.
