Oh my God!!! is this a soap opera or what? Now I am wondering who shot JR. The media is speculating anything. It's like they are putting cameras all around SBW because WE ALL WANT TO KNOW but I doubt that SBW and KN would be stupid to be doing this in a cafe. I'm sure they have offices. Well if SBW stays, great or if he doesn't, thanks for the memories.

Why would he announce he is playing in the league WC then meet the rugby fraternity the next day?

All a bit weird to me, like tony labelling JWH as overrated.

Why is that weird coming from TOK?

What is weird is that he hasn't started a thread about the forward pass. 4 days since his team won a GF (albeit third division and had to share it with the Storm) and not a word. I hope he hasn't harmed himself.

Hidden cameras? What is this? A farken reality show? Leave him alone, he has family commitments too? The chiefs should just piss off. The roosters haven't really pressured him into a decision which is the right thing to do. If his heart is at the club he stays. If not he goes its as simple as that.

How about this theory: Sonny is staying. He always was. He needs to be off contract with an NRL team (us- but the NRL cap system) so as to be free to do what he wants. He will go to the World Cup, then he will fight at least once if not twice. Then he will agree to term with the Roosters as a free agent. He will not be an employee of any NRL club during the period when the fights take place. Thus allowing him to pursue his other interests and allowing him to stay a Rooster and in the game that we all love.

I suggest this is what will happen and what was always going to happen.

^^ yes. Maybe the longer it takes for confirmation more likely it's us he plays with next year?

I know he will do what he wants in the end, and forget another title, I just want to see the dude tear it up again in the RWB for another season!

Not taking away from what he has done to help us win a premiership this year but I feel it's kind of piss poor that we are put into this situation as the club could have spent the money elsewhere. He's had all year to work out what he wanted to do for next year, no one player is bigger than the game and for that matter our mighty club. This should have been dealt with during the season.

I'm sure I will cop a bagging for saying this.

AP, there's merit to what you say but I guess the club believes it's worth the punt.

Looking at his season this year I can see their point.

This is only my opinion but I think he will be playing rugby next year, from my understanding he has to play Super 15 Rugby in 2014 to be eligible to play for the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup in 2015 I think is when it is.

The way I see SBW is that he actually likes the limelight in a shy quiet way, he or his management are constantly needing media attention, leading into the GF there was plenty of media hype & speculation that SBW may not be fit then a few days after the GF plenty of media talk about him making himself available for the Kiwi's again back in the papers. IMO he will go away with the Kiwi League team & then announce a return to Union all the time getting probably daily media reports about it. Then there will be an announcement that he has a Boxing match coming up after the Super 15 has finished. Then it will be time to talk about SBW back in the All Blacks team then it wouldn't surprise me to start hearing that SBW is heading back to League in 2016. (I hope Nick has a hand shake deal with him on that).

He doesn't smoke or drink so I think the limelight is what he gets a high from. Good luck to him because he is a true champion.

FACT: SBW had a meeting with NZRU to see if he could escape the 2 year commitment to play in the World Cup and Olympics thereafter. He wants to stay at the Roosters next year and is hoping they will agree to it.

This is direct from a family member

By what POS said in today's telegraph, I get the impression the Roosters are confident he will stay in 2014, and he has given them no indication that he has signed with the Chiefs:

“I think he would find it hard to walk out on the mateship he has made at this club during the past 12 months.’’

Told of the vision Thursday night, Roosters recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan said: “We want Sonny Bill in our football club for 2014.’’

I LOVE the sound of that Popeye!! I want to keep SBW for next year and for 4 more years if I had my way!!
Without a doubt if SBW leaves us than our chances of going back to back go down. Of course we will still be a chance, but obviously we are a far greater chance with him!!

SBW signing on for 1 or more years with us will be just 'the' news I want to hear, after hearing the bad news of Paul Green leaving us and quite possibly JT. Thanks so much for all JT and Green's efforts to help us win this year, but I can't help but feel pissed off that they will both be going to other clubs and using all the secrets to our success this year to their new clubs and using it against us, especially Green who will have a strong roster at the cowgirls!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                            Here's looking at you, kid.

Also I really don't get the people on here who are happy (and or even want) for SBW to leave. Makes no sense at all when you can see just how much he provides to our club both on and off the field!!

If SBW was to go back to rugby then I would wish him all the very best for the future, and thank him so much for his contributions to our club this year, but I will be bloody disappointed to see him go!!
