Was wondering if any of the statisticians out there could give me an idea how SBW's figures compared to those of Sam Burgess. Just curious because about 6 weeks ago Johnny Sattler told the world Burgess would have walked in to their pack, but apparently SBW isn't fit to lace Reggie the Rabbit's boots

For career stats the best I could get was that

SBW has played 97 games for 39 tries which gives him a strike rate of 0.4.

While Burgers has played 70 games for 16 tries giving him a strike rate of 0.2.

    And

    SBW has grabbed 0 testicles

While Burgass has grabbed 1 and many others that have been unaccounted for.

Yes, I've undertaken a full statistical regression analysis and offer the following results:

      SBW: a 2013 Premiership Ring

      S.Burgess: 0

Are you saying Chambers is a one-ball Paul?

SBW 23 games 8 tries av.108.5 mtrs per game 13 line breaks 63 offloads ,7 try assists
              24.8 tackles, 23 errors, 16 penalties conceded
              burgess, 22 games, 8 tries, 139.3 mtrs, 14 line breaks,22 offloads, 1 try assisst,
              30 tackles,31 errors and 16 penalties conceded.

Whilst burgess has more meters p.g. Look at offloads stats, that's where we won most of
              Our games.

In terms of quality and skill, SBW wins everyday. Anyone who denies it is lying or stupid.

The other massive difference is also line break assists. Sonny has about 16, which is unheard for a forward.

He's in a completely different class to Burgess.

                      Tries Bombed in big games
Sam 1 - when Napa somehow smashed him....Sonny 0.......so Sam has got the edge on him in that category
Prelim finals lost this year....Sam 1 Sonny ....Sam has the edge again
GF's won Sonny 2 Sam Nil (yet to play)

Tries Saved/Bombs difffused......in just two big games (Round 26 v $ouff$ and Manly in the GF), Sonny diffused 3 potential tries from kicks and somehow on each occasion also got into the field of play. Burgess I doubt if he managed one of those all year.

Also in the 1 percenters category Sonny 100.....S Burgess nil.

The intangible qualities is where there is the biggest gulf between the two. The most important difference between the two in which you cannot measure in raw statistics apart from the superior class of footballer Sonny is in comparison to Sam is the effect he has had on the club as a whole. Sonny has brought in a new level of professionalism to the Roosters and has changed the culture of the club. Whereas Sam has helped make Souths more competitive but that is about it.

I'd almost forgotten about Sonny's bomb defusal in the GF. That may have been the Premiership decider. It was a difficult take and he managed to avoid being pushed back for a line drop out.
