Wasn't he? he ws trying but you can only beat your head against a wall for so long. I remember him having a go and not being supported.
I'd lose interest, wouldn't you?
So why didn't he lead by example by using his large frame and making some inspirational hit up's or crunching tackles.......he was after all signed to be a mentor to the younger, inexperienced youngsters on the field.
Off the field he's doing superbly!
he knows this is his last chance year at getting a contract extension, or rather his missus to be knows, so he might just put in big time this season, it wouldnt surpride me at all, a great sign that hes been seen doing his own preseason training!

i don't think he was ever signed to be a mentor. sure he had the experience but he was signed because of his form. injury has stuffed a fair amount of that.
off field i havent been worried with his behaviour.

You are full of shit.
Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.
If Mason plays to his ability he could be the most damaging forward in the comp. We don't have many talented players so to get rid of him would be stupid.
My vote had nothing to do with ability.
His personality is incredibly damaging to team unity.

I remember it well
Freddy said in an interview something too the effect
"that Willie was to take Pearce under his wing"
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Bullshit. Full of it. Mason was relied to lead the pack on teh field, not to look after them off it. A busted up knee wasnt part of the plan. You rate Ryles, and you expect to have credibility? Bullshit....

he doesnt lead by example because he is a bludger bigtime.
was a good player 4 years ago but since then has done nothing both at the dogs and at our club.

the important word you used - "might"
that sums it all up.
might.
its like a child trying to stay up all night hoping to see santa claus come down the chimney but then only to fall asleep and then the parents having to pretend afterwards.
its all hope and wishful thinking.
maybe one day he will be worth his big pay cheque.
