Principle centred leadership is great in theory if the whole work environment has embraced it. Bullying, political point scoring etc at the top stifles any chance to apply it to the masses. He would have no chance applying it at the Roosters if he is getting all sorts of pressure from the top. It all starts there. It would be more like the 7 habits of highly ineffective people.

you havent read the book have you Melon.

That piece of literature is where every buzzword from the 90s originated.

            "proactivity"
            "synergy"
            "first things first"

            the list goes on.

It is a pity more coaches dont embrace some of the philosophy in that book.

Unfortunately, the young kids need direction and parenting.
The key is to use a technique where they might actually listen to you.

How could someone like Freddy begin to understand the mind of a young polynesian who is christian 90% of the time and the other 10% he gets drunk and is irrational???

I remember talking to my wife one day about how a particular islander NRL player would not look at the ref when being cautioned and how I thought it disrespectful and she replied no thats showign respect, to look at an authority figure is disrespectful. (she has taught a few)
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Read the books..done the courses..even saw the lizard man deliver it in person a few years back!!

A great leader takes the best bits from different management philosophies though.

                  "Basically" and
"At the end of the day"

                  2 of my faves.

I loved Lammy as a player Trew. As much as Fittler. i hated Fittler as a coach though. And Lam didnt get a chance to give me an opinion.

Basically, at the end of the day, our management has made some massive personel errors in the past 3 years.

                        Not at all.

I take it our opinion regarding Lam as a player might differ.

Best goddamned touch-footballer what ever lived.

Lammy did tend to go MIA in the big games unfortunately

some might argue that theory if state of origin are counted in the mix.

                            Was it purely Lams inadequacy??
Was it Gould losing the plot???

                            I dont know

Heaven help the player who was the playmaker alongside Fittler, as long as Gould was coaching. Freddy could do no wrong according to gus in those days.

I don't recall him doing too much wrong.

So the question remains why was all the attention of failure to measure up in big games directed to Lam only!
