Originally posted by Yak View PostI hope Taane Milne sticks with us and doesn't get grabbed by the Waratahs because he has the potential to be a brilliant right centre. His allround game is probably better than Moga's. He doesn't have the tackle breaking ability of Moga but he's a better defender and has a beautiful horizontal technique. His footwork is sensational and so is his offloading ability to set up his winger. Even though I don't consider Moga as a winger, if Milne stays and keeps developing I think we may have a backline of RTS, Tupou, Jennings, Milne and Moga within 2 years. Moga is a brilliant finisher from a distance or close to the line so he'd some spectacular stuff outside Milne once they develop a combination. The main thing would be to work on Tau Tau's ability to turn and chase and defensive decision making having not played much wing throughout his career. That would be a scary good backline with 5 absolute freaks after a solid year of first grade for Milne and Moga. I hope that we aim to develop a fair few of those guys as future first graders, namely Evans, Napa, Langi, Meehan, Hastings, RTS, Tupou, Moga and Milne. All of those guys have representative potential in my opinion. Obviously, Naughton and Reuben we'd have to wait and see how they perform in Roosters colours.
I feel with an abundance of youth coming through the club may decide to upgrade a number of contracts with the money SBW, MK and so on will/have, left over. Why buy when the talent and potential that is vital to long-term success is already on your books? As long as Trent stays, I feel a dynasty is on the radar at Bondi, similar to that from the mid 90's to when Freddy retired. Hopefully however we win more premierships in this time

Sheens and furner are going to shaft Jennings for a center spot, maybe cordner will get a bench spot but i reckon furner will be pushing hard for papali. We will see what happens but i wouldnt be suprised if there is no rooster representation in kangaroos finals team.Like i said before this world cup started.Go the Roosters sorry i meant the Kiwis lol.

Well that was a disappointing 2 mins from Evans. Soft attempt on Burgess to let a try in then gives away a penalty (didn't think it was a fair one) from the kickoff that leads to another try.
Fiji can't take a trick. Fail to find touch then have the refs go back on a scrum decision to call a try.
Another miss from Evans. Not impressive at all. Lets hope its just a lack of match fitness.

Day 15
Engalnd 34 defeated Fiji 12
First half was really good, Fiji were really solid in defence and were unlucky not to go in at half time with a lead thanks to a wrong call from Shayne Hayne in the video refs box. Engalnd just came out after half time though and absolutely blew them off the park though.
Kane Evans - 4/10
Disappointing game for Kane. He struggled to get involved in attack, only had the two carries (both impressive) but really should've been pushing up more for some carries. Soft effort for England's try just minutes after half time which started the avalanche of points. Fiji will progress to the quarter finals so he's got a chance to atone for his poor effort.
Ben Cummins - 0/10
Geez he's bad, the ruck speed was slow all game, hands on the ball, players coming back through the ruck, holding on as long as they liked... it was just a mess and really ruined the spectacle of the game. I've really enjoyed the World Cup until this game but he just reminded me why he truly is one of the worst refs currently going round.

From what I heard he barely got 30 minutes. Tim Sheens is absolutely destroying Australia's chances with the media seemingly oblivious to this fact.
Boyd should be the starting right second rower, without question. That isn't bias at all. He's clearly the best hole running backrower Australia have, not to mention in serious form given his 2nd rower of the year award.
But no ... "tried and tested" is the way to go for old Tim in the form of Sam Thaiday. A man who has played a handful of great games in 2/3 years.
People stuck in the past get left behind in emphatic fashion ... and I can see a clear NZ win the final from a mile away. They're big, strong, mobile and IN FORM. Australia however are living on past reputations.
