Explain how you think Papalli is proven at origin? What did he do to prove himself? We must have been watching a different player.

I just think they're both elite talents and at this stage Papalii is further along in his career and certain parts of his game.
Purely on that I'd feel far more comfortable picking Papalii in a Test Match.
I can't speak any higher of either player though, Cordner imo is the best youngster to come through the Roosters system since Minichiello. As for the question of who I think will be the better player and whether Cordner will surpass Papalii, honestly I have no idea I think they're the two best second rowers coming through First Grade at the moment by quite some distance. Sironen is the other one to watch out for, I think he's all class and will kill it next year if the Tigers finally put him in the second row.Last edited by Andrew Walker; 11-12-2013, 10:03 AM.When you trust your television

All his carries were strong, didn't make any errors and didn't miss any tackles. Ended up averaging 10 metres per run for the series which for a prop is outstanding let alone a second rower who's been shifted into the middle of the field in the most intense brand of Rugby League in the world. He's proven he can handle the physicality, intensity and pace of origin which finds out plenty of players in their first games.
He's got a long way to go before he can be labeled as an established origin player but he's definitely proven he can handle the step up in class as far as I'm concerned.

Day 17
Samoa 22 defeated France 6
Was a crazy first half, 3 off the ball shots from Samoa saw Masoe get sin binned and tension boil over a few times. Wasn't much footy played in the first half and they went in 6-6. Samoa came out with their heads screwed on and ran away with the game like they should have from the start.
Remi Casty - 7/10
Definitely his best game of the tournament. Plenty of strong carries, whilst he's not making huge metres after contact he's not getting smashed either and he did get quite a few quick play the balls away. He looked intent on ball playing before the line often which is something I believe will become a feature of our play in 2014. His defence was very good, one of the few who wasn't totally exposed by the large Samoan pack. Supports the ball carrier and runs good angles around the ruck for his dummy half & ball players, I think he'll fit into our structure well. Got a huge motor on him which is a big positive if we do in fact lose O'donnell, played about 50-60 minutes all up.
Gets the chance to play England in the quarter final so it'll be interesting to see how he handles the step up in class.
17 runs, 130 metres, 35 tackles, 1 missed
Finals look as such;
New Zealand vs Scotland
Australia vs USA
England vs France
Fiji vs Samoa

Finals Week 1
New Zealand 40 defeated Scotland 4
Sonny Bill Williams - 7/10
Only played 30 minutes and it was a really mixed bag. Created one try and had a hand in another but also missed a really soft tackle on Danny Brough that lead to a Scottish line break. Hurt his kneck early on in the game which is why he went off early, just a precaution by the sounds of it though.
5 runs, 38 metres, 1 try assist, 1 offload, 1 linebreak & 7 tackles
Jared Warea Hargreaves - 7.5/10
Not sure if he was demoted to the bench or if Kearney is still trying to figure out his best prop rotation but he has to start he's been close to if not their best player so far this world cup. A very solid game coming off the bench, not easy for props to make metres tonight as Cummins was allowing Scotland to be offside all night. Got a few offloads away too which is always good to see, when he's offloading he's at his best.
16 runs, 130 metres, 3 tackle breaks, 2 offloads & 23 tackles
Sam Moa - 7/10
Strong carries, struggled on a few hitups with the 5m defensive line Scotland were holding but AGAIN typical Moa. You know what you're going to get out of him every game. 100% effort with a bit of class on top. Good strong carries and strong hits in defence. Didn't get a whole lot of game time but a far superior option to Kasiano, I hope Kearney realises this.
7 runs, 74 metres, 8 tackles & 1 offload
Frank Paul Nuuasuaal - 6/10
Very quiet when he was on the field, didn't get a whole lot of game time though. Didn't do a whole lot wrong but didn't impress either.
6 runs, 41 metres & 10 tackles
Roger Tuivasa Sheck - 8.5/10
Got the man of the match award and well deserved. Scored an awesome 100m try where he fielded a kick on the full, stepped past a defender put his head back and went all the way himself. Some of his runs tonight were ridiculous, his foot work is amazing. He really can't be held out of the fullback position for much longer, his broken field running is such a joy to watch.
17 runs, 265 metres, 10 tackle breaks, 3 linebreaks & 2 tries
The game is worth watching purely to see RTS at his best. Broken field play, running up the middle of the ruck.... the defence had no idea.

well done hyphens
Missed about 20 tackles and threw just as many shocking passes, no wonder they couldn't get a smile out of Ivan Cleary or Kearney all night. Cleary was probably lamenting signing the bloke all night and Kearney had to listen to it.

Tough decision though based on fact that SKD will have to start all over again his combination (particularly defence). He and RTS came a long way from round 1 where Inglis put a few on for Merrit down that side.
Over to you Robbo.

Attack is a tad concerning, considering Mini isn't the fastest anymore and, especially outside SKD, being on the end of some quality ball may be difficult. Also, in attack mini has been known to struggle with his hands...
None the less I still hope we re-sign Mini as I'm sure he will do a great job for the team
