DAY 2
FRANCE 9 DEFEATED PNG 8
2 Roosters played in France's win over PNG
Remi Casty - 6/10 (FRANCE)
Didn't really put a foot wrong, got through a lot of work in defence but his hitups left a little to be desired. Constantly getting stopped in his tracks and struggling to make metres after contact. Played about 40 minutes and was doing a lot of defending whilst on the field so in fairness it may had an impact on his attacking game but nothing much to write home about.
8 runs, 65 metres, 38 tackles, 0 errors, 1 penalty conceded
Nene Mcdonald - 7/10 (PNG)
Looked really good, one of PNG's brightest. Had some really classy touches, took some really strong runs out of their own half and made a linebreak after being put into space by his centre only to be pulled down 5 metres short after swerving nicely to beat some defenders. He's a reasonably tall winger, they tried to kick to him but the wind was atrocious and the ball was either landing on the 20m line or 10 rows into the Grandstand. Really good game from him though.
New Zealand 42 defeated Samoa 24
For anyone who hasn't seen the game I suggest you catch a replay, especially the second half. The game had just about everything. 5 Roosters were involved in the game, all on the Kiwis side.
Sam Moa - 7/10
Started the first 10 minutes and played about 30 minutes all up so didn't have a lot of time to impress but it was typical Sam Moa. 100% in every tackle and every carry. Pulled off a couple of big hits and bowled over a few defenders with his runs. Good debut for Sammy.
5 runs, 39m, 19 tackles, 0 errors, 0 penalties conceded
Frank-Paul Nuuasuala 7/10
Was great for the kiwis of the bench. Plenty of strong runs, and made a linebreak right up the middle. Got knocked out at one point and wasn't really seen much after that apart from slapping some bloke over the head in a scrum. Good performance for FPN though. Also only played about 30 minutes.
8 runs, 75m, 1 linebreak, 1 offload, 2 tackle busts, 0 errors, 1 penalty conceded
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 7.5/10
Really good first half but had a quiet second half. Scored a magnificent try diving into the corner with his body outside the field of play and a spectacular one handed put down and was involved in setting up another try where he was put into a gap by Whare before passing to Mannering who finished it off. Solid in defence, his kick returns were strong all night no real low points to speak of. Could've had another try if Whare hadn't hogged it on one occasion too.
10 runs, 94 metres, 6 tackle busts, 1 try assist, 2 linebreaks, 1 error
Sonny Bill Williams 7.5/10
Layed on the first try with a great short ball to Whare but everyone will be talking about his comical bombed try in the morning. He did all the hard work, beat 4 or 5 defenders with sheer strength and power before slipping as he was about to put the ball down. Gotta feel for him, his haters will be out in force but outside of that he had a solid game without over-playing his hand. Hit the ball up strongly all night and had his moments of class. I think he may have gone off at the end, but if not played very close to the full 80 minutes.
111 runs, 103 metres, 4 tackle busts, 24 tackles, 2 offloads, 1 linebreak, 1 linebreak assist & 1 error he'll never forget
Jared Warea-Hagreaves - 8.5/10
Brilliant game from Jared, not sure how he didn't get MOTM. Made good carries all night and really lead the forward pack with his trademark aggression. Gave away a silly penalty early on but outside of that had a brilliant game. All up he would've played about 50 minutes, more than any of the other front rowers.
18 runs, 165 metres, 1 offload, 15 tackles, 2 penalties conceded
Greece 90 defeated Hungary 0
Braith Anasta - 10/10
Braith Anasta scored 46 points against Hungary

Thanks man.
FPN also offloaded really well leading to a try: after he was knocked out and before the slap.
A spirited performance by Samoa - imagine they had SBW, Matai and RTS, too. It must be said though, that it was while FPN and Jared were off the field that they got their second wind - not taking anything off them, they really took it to the Kiwis.
I think Kearney got it wrong, though. I'd have had Lului on the bench for Taylor; I thought Luke coulda used a spell.
I hope we get to see NZ v. The Poms. There will be blood.Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

I'm pretty sure Leuluai was unavailable for this game due to injury but I definitely agreee, Issac Luke could've done with a spell and 4 forwards on the bench with 12 interchanges is overkill.

I wonder if he will ever run past the try line again before putting the ball down.

JWH MOM for mine
Great to see OUR props starting & it showed as well, had the upper hand with that front row
Moa is a missile, although Masoe gets due credit
Leuluai was injured I think so hooker rotation wasnt there, although Luke needs to up his fitness
FPN offload & JWH offload displayed roosters signature style
RTS a classy first half
SBW humble in making the others look better"Qui audet adipiscitur"

Day 3
Fiji 32 defeated Ireland 14
Only one Rooster took part in the game.
Kane Evans - 6.5/10
Unfortunately Kane didn't get a whole lot of game time. He got about 10 minutes before half time and 10 minutes after and wasn't seen again until he was brought on for the final 2 minutes of the game. For the short time he was on the field though he more than handled himself making metres after contact on nearly every hitup. Looked very good, just a shame he didn't get more game time to show it. Earnt his side a penalty just before half time when he had 3 defenders trying to drag him down and put on a good shot at the end of the game.
7 runs, 67 metres, 7 tackles, 0 missed, 0 errors.
Tomorrow Langi, Tupou & Seluini will line up for Tonga against Scotland in the only game on day 4.
