  • O'Donnell knocks back sharks will stay with Roosters or retire

PREMIERSHIP winning forward Luke O'Donnell could be staying at Bondi Junction after all, with the 33-year-old knocking back a swansong season with the Cronulla Sharks.

It was expected that due to salary cap restrictions and the re-signing of Sonny Bill Williams that O'Donnell would be squeezed out of the Sydney Roosters.

Cronulla were keen to sign the NRL journeyman, however, Sharks officials were told yesterday that the veteran hardman was weighing up the prospect of staying at the Roosters, for possibly another two years.St George Illawarra and Parramatta were also interest in securing his services.

But it now appears likely that O'Donnell will remain with the Tri-colours under grand final winning coach Trent Robinson.

O'Donnell's manager Wayne Beavis said that while no deal had been agreed on with any club, he was planning to meet with Robinson today."He'll either go round again or retire," Beavis said. -

          Excellent news!

The cap room is coming from a cap increase. And no MLK.

Ultimately we have no idea what we do/don't have left.

The quote from Beavis simply says he hasn't decided. The Cronulla officials also said he was still weighing up options.

            So the news is.........no news.

Interesting point; surely Mini and LOD can be re-signed based on his money, along with the loss of Tasi mid-season

mk was on around 350 to 400k so that leaves a fair bit of room, but how much is remy getting?

If Kennedy was on 350-400k then whoever made that deal needs shooting.

Maybe two years so they can very very heavily back end it for when sonny is gone.

I believe we are waiting on how the salary cap will work fornext year before we can commit to LOD and Mini.

If true, it doesn't look good for us signing Ferguson.
