      Fixed it.
Surely Danny Brough is not being seriously considered for this. He got shown up by Peter Wallace at the WC ffs.

Well to me this means that unless you competed in the RLWC this year, you had no chance cause Friend was a better hooker than Smith and Luke in the NRL. Only reason Smith is there is because he's the captain but Luke was probably best in the tournament. The again my theory went out the window cause Lyons was voted best center. In this case the RLWC aided Luke to get the gong.

Sonny Bill Williams has this morning been announced as the International Player of the Year at the Rugby League International Federation awards night in Manchester.

SBW was one of three nominees for the game's highest honour, alongside Rabbitohs, Maroon and Australian star Greg Inglis and Huddersfield and Scotland halfback Danny Brough.

Williams' win caps off what is now unarguably one of the greatest returns to the game in the professional era, having only re-started his rugby league career just 10 months ago and since has claimed an NRL Premiership, the 2013 Jack Gibson Medal and will this weekend face off with his "Kiwi Brothers" in the World Cup Final against Australia.

Roosters Assistant Coach Craig Fitzgibbon, who played against SBW when at the Bulldogs and now coaches the star forward, was high in praise for the dual-international after hearing of his achievement.

"To be honest, I'm just honoured to be able to work with blokes like Sonny," Fitzgibbon said.

"He's been such a big part of what we've built here at the Roosters this season and his work on the field is only half of it. He's been a huge asset to the Club in all areas and this award is a just reward for the efforts he's put in."

Williams was also named the Second Row of the Year, beating out fellow Rooster Boyd Cordner, Cronulla and NSW star Luke Lewis and Huddersfield and England's Brett Ferres.

Williams was one of nine nominations the Roosters had at the annual awards, including Boyd Cordner who narrowly missed out on Rookie of the Year to George Burgess.

Williams however wasn't the only winner on the night with Head Coach Trent Robinson named the Coach of the Year in just his third season as a Head Coach and only his first in the NRL.

Robinson beat out South Sydney mentor Michael Maguire and Wigan boss Shaune Wane for the top honour, adding to his already achieved Dally M Coach of the Year, Club Championship, Minor Premiership and NRL Premiership.

Roosters Chief Operation Officer - Football, Brian Canavan, who was part of the panel who brought Robinson back to the Roosters after his stint in the Super League, was quick to acknowledge 'Robbo' following the announcement.

"This award justly recognises the strength of his leadership capabilities," Canavan said.

Canavan was also quick to acknowledge the Team that surrounds Robinson at the Bondi Club.

"It's important to point out as well that Trent is supported by Assistants Jason Taylor, Craig Fitzgibbon and Paul Green plus an expert performance and medical staff."

"Trent worked tirelessly throughout the season and showed himself to be a great student of people and the game and he's laid a platform for a long, illustrious career here at the Roosters and we're very proud of him and his accomplishments."

In the fourth and final award for the Tricolours on the night, young-gun Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was named the Wing of the Year to add to his already impressive season having been announced the Dally M Wing of the Year.

Taylor, who coached Tuivasa-Sheck at the Under 20s level and now leads the attack the young Kiwi is on the end of in the NRL, wasn't surprised the former NZ Rugby Union Schoolboy was being recognised.

"He is the most exciting talent in the NRL and has had an unbelievable season, for both us and now with the Kiwi's as well," Taylor said.

"His ability to learn something new and transfer that to the park is up there with the best I've ever seen and he's showed that this season."

"He's been called a star of the future all year long and now he's showing the world what we've been fortunate enough to see for the past two seasons."

Corey Parker this best lock forward in the game this year. Seriously?

I know this guy gets through a mountain of work, but he really doesn't inspire me.

                              Burgess is no lock.

Congrats to the Roosters that won. It highlights to me the hard work that SBW does not just the flashy stuff
