  • Should the club relocate?

Should the club take the opportunity that has been presented by our utterly dismal year, take the 8 mill or whatever is on offer and relocate the club to the Central Coast?

    Pros:
Gives us 8 Mill in the pocket.
Takes the players away from all the pwetty lights of the city, they do get bamboozled by them.
Gain a massive junior region to develop.
    Fresh start for all concerned.
A home ground to call our very own.

    Cons:
Loss most of the current (local) supporter base and members.
Lose a few current (local) sponsors.
    Lose our local juniors (lol)
    Politis will walk away.

    Chook.

its difficult to say. I dont think its as gloomy as everyone seems to make moving out to be. I think for the club, the new supporter base will be dinamite. As much as we hate to admit it, there are more sunshine supporters at our club than anywhere else so at least those blokes will have passion. The issue I think which is my stumbling block is the fact that I would not be able to get out to the games as often and also that the appeal of the club - being so prestigious and in such an area we would lose that bargaining chip. also being a foundational club in the eastern suburbs is something not to be surrended lightly. Very interesting and not sure I have made my mind up

Takes the players away from all the pwetty lights of the city, they do get bamboozled by them. not necessarily, there is plenty of places to get inot trouble on the coast
Gain a massive junior region to develop.big plus
Fresh start for all concerned. couldnt hurt
A home ground to call our very own. one of the best grounds in the league
Only one hours drive from Sydney, at times it takes fans longer than that to escape the car par...
          Cons:
Loss most of the current (local) supporter base and members. statistics prove that the local supporter base is not the Roosters main supporter base anymore..
Lose a few current (local) sponsors. a loss for sure, but would gain local sponsors
Lose our local juniors (lol) everyone keeps saying we have none......
Politis will walk away. did someone say fresh start....

          Chook.

I would still support and tavel if they did re-locate......

              I'd follow Souths before I'd follow a re-located Roosters.

We are, have always been and must remain in the Eastern Suburbs.

I think another Pro would be that we almost guarantee survival.

As for taking them away from the pretty city lights, that didnt help Nate Myles.

I can stomach a relocation more than a merger.

We'd be dead within 2 seasons if we re-located, the Central Coast people want their own team.

With the amount of reporting and interest shown the obvious relocation would be a return to Henson. The grand stand could almost accomodate the chookpen.

I live on the central coast and although there is a heap of talk about people embracing their club, I am not so sure. If they were succesful then it would be easier to attract the crowds (like most clubs).

Should the Roosters relocate? I say no even though I would love to go to the games closer to home.

The players could still live in Sydney and travel, it is not that far outside of peak hour traffic.

Stay where you are boys, in the Easten Suburbs.

If we hooked up with the Bears & made a permanent wholehearted move I could see it working... It's also closer & more convenient for me!!!
