  • Anyone else notice is this or is it just me?

I was watching the GF, again, and was paying particular attention to SKD. Basically trying to see at which point he broke his jaw.

Understandably it wasnt that easy (as it may have happened in a tackle, etc.) But.......

Is it just me or did no one else notice that SKD's jaw only started bleeding around the 79th-80th min and continued to bleed? If he broke his jaw earlier wouldn't it have bled from the start and the medicos would have found out straight away?

According to the stories he didnt want to tell the docs and physios coz he wanted to stay on, which is brilliant. But how come there was no blood?

I could be wrong here, its just my opinion and I am no doctor or am I in the medical field. So maybe it is possible to have a broken jaw and not bleed, I have no idea.

But does anyone else have an explanation?

I watched out for it too. didn't he break it around 20 or 21 minutes, tackled and fell into Kite's knee?

Bingo, that's when I think it happened as well.

Yea that's what I heard as well. Still baffled by the no blood though for 60mins or so and then ridiculous bleeding after the siren goes...

Just as well the bleeding wasn't profuse earlier in the game - they would have replaced him and who's to say if someone else would have scored off Mini's long pass?

SKD had an ordinary year for the most part, but I am glad he was there to score what turned out to be a GF winning try.

breaking a bone doesn't automatically mean your going to bleed

The incident where SKD had his jaw broken was shown once by Channel 9 on their news a day or so after the Grand finalwas played

it was from an angle that wasn't shown in the original G/F telecast.

SKD was getting up to play the ball and a Manly player clearly knees him in the jaw....refs missed it....no action by the review panel for some strange reason......just because the season had finished
Would like to see the replay again so that we can identify the dog that did the damage......
once he has been identified........KARMA awaits

I've watched the GF 3 times & I still couldn't see where SKD broke his jaw.

Pretty sure he breaks it 21:15 in after copping a stray knee. He gets another knee to the face in his next hit up at 22:45.

After the first one the next few times the camera pans out you can see he's a little off.

Maybe he starts to bleed near the end from having a drink just before. Just an idea but didn't watch that bit just then.

20 mins in , skids is being tackled by a mandy player and as he is coming down in the tackle, kite is entering to assist in the tackle. skids jaw meets the kite knee. totally accidental. the jaw was broken at that point as skidsy gets up and plays the ball and for a milli second of footage you see him opening and closing his jaw mixed with a slight off balance jog back to his position. there was no blood because of when you break a bone it doesn't nessesaryly bleed. if the beak was at the hinge of the jaw that wont bleed but if it is below the teeth and futher impacts occur it will bleed. I believe he suffered a break under his molars on the right of his face.

and yes karma has got kite twice so far. one the gf loss and the second is leaving mandy.

This will give me a good excuse to watch the GF again.
I watched it for the 8th time on NYE after putting the kids to bed at 11pm. I watched the first half, then the fireworks, then the second half. What a great way to start the year.

SKDsy got tackled by Foran late in the game, and Kieran's hand comes around and hits his jaw (looks accidental). Could this have caused the bleeding?

Thought it was George Rose. Footage I saw also showed a tooth flying after the contact.
