  • another ridiculous telucrap story

apparently we are going hard to sign Fifita and are willing to sign him for $750,00 a season, using the funds freed up by SBW leaving and not re-signing the likes of Napa/Evans/Moa

they have written some garbage stories in the past but seriously Fifita on $750k and giving away two under 20 state of origin props and a kiwi international to sign one player, please what a joke.

When I first read the headline I thought it was definitely crap. But the more I think about it the more I could see the club enquiring about him... we'll have a large chunk of cap up our sleeve next year and the club will probably be keeping a close eye on the transfer market.

More likely looking for a bargain or two though, after winning a premiership there's not many glaring weaknesses.

there won't be that much cap room left, Pearce's new contract takes effect this year also Jennings contracts escalates and also the pre-payed part of Maloney's contract is over, when you throw in contract upgrades due for Evans/Napa/Milne/Moga and recently Meehan there won't be such a huge cash pile left over even when SBW leaves.

the best way to create some cap room would be to move SKD on.

I'd like to see us sign him.
$750k is a bit much though.

Depending on how he progresses this year, I wouldn't be letting Napa go.
Fifita could play second row if need be.

Imagine having JWH and Fifita on the pitch together....boom!!!

I dont think the club is going to let Napa go .Dont know about Moa probably depends on what he wants. But i reckon Evans is gone in the mid year transfer window if he is not playing firsts for us.The other clubs will have cheque book in hand and will be calling his management offering him a starting spot.

I would hope that its just a smokescreen to drive Fifita's price up and forcing the vermin to overpay for his services.

I think there would be more chance of us bringing Folau back to league in 2016 than signing Fifita for 2015

I agree if Evans is not playing regular first grade he will sign elsewhere for 2015.

listening to Robbo talk about this weekend's WCC team it seemed that Casty/Evans was a tough choice for the last bench spot so Casty certainly hasn't wrapped up a spot for round 1 yet.

                    It's rubbish.

The Dragons are the ones that have offered Fifita $750,000/season.

Evans' poor handling in the 9s may have cost him a spot.

Think about all the money freed up by SBW, SKD and Mini.

                        Rnd 1 next year:

                        1. RTS
                        2. Tupou
                        3. Jennings
                        4. Milne
                        5. Moga
                        6. Maloney
                        7. Pearce
                        8. JWH
                        9. Friend
                        10. Fifita
                        11. Cordner
                        12. Guerra
                        13. FPN

                        14. Napa
                        15. Moa
                        16. Aubusson
                        17. Mortimer

                        Sounds good to me!!

Yes, not interested in Fifita for $750 a season, way over the top, but at a realistic price, I would let Kane and Lui go, but as my previous posts have indicated, a classy centre should be our main objective.

Maybe Smith will give us a $750,000 grant from the NRL's reserves when he gets sole decision making control to breach the salary cap.

With regards to Kane Evans, I wonder if manly will go after him given that they are publicly looking for a replacement for the recently retired Richie Fa'aso to boost their front row stocks.
