I know it's a view that doesn't sit well with a lot of Roosters supporters, but Politis has become a cancer. The club will never be strong while he's in charge. He's single handedly given the club it's unfortunate but entirely deserved "transit lounge" reputation. He employs people in senior football club operational roles, but then insists on having the power of veto when it comes to roster management. FFS Nick! Let them do the job you pay them to do! And let them live or die by their own decisions - not your decisions

I hope Mason does go. But if no-one else will take him, they must try and get him motivated and get him producing on the field next season. Having him sit out would be laughable. If he doesn't pull his finger out, he can play for Newtown, but he doesn't sit out.

    I agree with this point.

Nick wants to put the knife in when things go poorly, however he is often setting those he employs up for failure.

I would say he has learned a lesson and Smith will have a majority vote on everything footy for quite some time

Your right Uncle Nicks to blame but you all have the wrong reasons you will never figure out while we went bad
Riddle me this riddle me that

Mini wants to play with his brother at Gold Coast.

Which I know has nothing to do with Politis, but it was worth a crack

I highly doubt it. They are not as close as one might expect

Whatever peoples views on Mason, if her can't get a gig elsewhere, they have to get him motivated and get him playing in 2010. Surely he'll get a deal in Japan, but if not, how can we possibly have him sit out the season, and still pay him $400K? That's ridiculous.

This isn't a defnce of him in any way, but they say knee injuries like his take 12 months to get over, and then the player needs to get his confidence back. Towards the end of last season, I reckon there were a couple of very faint glimmers of hope that maybe he was improving.

That said, I'd prefer him gone too. But if he doesn't go, we simply don't have the roster to have a $400K player sitting on the sidelines.

Let me assure you he won't be playing in Easts colours next season - Brian is using this as a statement to every player at the club - you are on notice, no one is untouchable. Mason will either get a gig in Japan or play for another NRL club where we will be paying most of the contract, Brian doesn't care how much it costs us in 2010.

You obviously don't quite get it..

It is not the player, Willie Mason, that is not wanted at Easts..

It is the person, Willie Mason, that is not wanted at Easts..

                          You're not kidding.

Mind you, I never wanted either. Because unfortunately, you get one the other follows.

The way you've described his behaviour at Fitzy's farewell sums up the person that is BWM - it's ALL ABOUT HIM.
Contrast that with the humility that Fitzy displays and I can see why the club is firm on moving BWM along.
