Sure, he is not alone in getting off to a bad start, lots of others in the team have as well, but they have youth on their side, Mini doesnt have that luxury, for mine I would be enticing Peter Hika over from Manly, he never plays a bad game, and is safe as a bank , at the back, and would't cost the earth either. RTS, is going ok on the wing, I'am not convinced, he would be a saviour at fullback, maybe a centre spot will open up, if SKD, fails to aim up.
Absolutely spot on. Minichiello is our greatest ever fullback, and we'd all love to have the 2003-2008 model. When was the last time he made a line break returning the ball ? Souths would be nothing without Inglis. Can you imagine GI at the back for the Roosters? We'd be unbeatable.
After the round one clash, I put up this post. After we smashed the Eels, and mini had a blinder, I was hammered. I wasn't disappointed, I was pleased that he may have proved me wrong. He hasn't.
If you go through every team in the NRL, most , if not all have X factor fullbacks.
Even Sam Perritt threatens a defensive line. I sat through the Dogs match again, which was torture, and Mini, was driven back almost every carry. Last week Matai, drove him back 15 metres.
If RTS isn't th answer, they should make a play for Tedesco.
The Roosters have very few weaknesses, a great forward pack, origin halves, a fast 3/4 line. Wish I could add a great fullback. I'd settle for good.
It's always painful to see sports stars play past their use by date. From Ali, to Ponting to Lucas Neil. Add Anthony Minichiello to that list

I don't like the idea of a small centre. They will run over him.

RTS a much better attacking fullback than Mini or Hiku and his skills are much broader than sidestepping. So far this season RTS has demonstrated a wonder fend, a decent passing game, and if memory serves me correctly he also put in a nice little kick under pressure. My only concern with him is reliability under the high ball but that will come in time.

If Mini is the idiot who said go for a try on Friday night then I'll host the retirement party myself.

It's not a nice thing to say, but I hope Mini suffers a season (career?) ending injury soon. I'm sure the club knows he is past it, but just can't quite make that call, given now he is the 'Face of the NRL'.

                ARE YOU SERIOUS?

In light of what Anthony has recovered from previously and also what Alex McKinnon and his family are currently going through, this is your hope?

Your post makes me feel physically ill.

No I'm not serious, instead I wish he'd face reality and put the team ahead of his ego. He is embarrassing himself with his current form, and as I said the club doesn't have the balls to tap him on the shoulder.

After the Parramatta match, most of us, including myself, thought that Mini was back to his old form. That form lasted a whole week. For those of you who play supercoach, Mini scored a monster 120 plus against Parramatta, but his other scores have been embarrassing.
                    V Souths 12 points
                    V Brisbane 5
                    V Manly 14
                    V dogs 27

Those scores are atrocious. The plan was at the start of the 2013 season, was for Mini to either retire at the end of last year, or to move to the wing this year.
This is a big call, but is there a more ineffective fullback with the ball, than Minichiello?

Sheck is not yet ready to be a fulltime fullback. It has been blatantly obvious that he is great in attack but his reading of the game when playing fullback leaves alot to be desired. And as you know that is why the coach alternates them depending who has the ball and where we are on the field.

Well said. How about some respect for the club captain?

Don't care if you think he should've retired, but can't believe you'd wish serious injury on any player let alone one of your own !
