  • Penalty when 8-6

At the time I thought we could have taken the 2 points to make it 10-6.

It would have made it 4 points in the two sets we had on their line, as good as scoring a try.

We then get the ball back of a kick off and roll on.

Instead we lose the ball early after a quick tap then give away a piggy back.

That was the beginning of the end.

I think the beginning of the end was all the collective dropped ball in attack.

Cordners shocking pass, Moas dropped ball, SBWs attempted miracle ball to Mini who is still yet to catch a short pass in his career when hitting a hole, Napas dropped pass, the Maloney "fumble" .... we were less cohesive than the Red Army when Barbarossa kicked off.

And we weren't much better vs Wigan! Last year we clicked into gear rnd 4 vs Parra. Hopefully we're a bit quicker this season.

Some call the game changer, the first penalty which we took the two. Game was to fast for us to keep up.

        I agree with the VascoOne.

Should've taken the 2 especially after taking them the first time.

        The FlogPen .

        You know it makes sense.

Yeah I thought that at the time also.Teams only seem to go penalty goals these day to either to level the scores or put them up by 2pts, 8 pts, 12 pts or 14pts or scenerios like that. 10-6 and the ball back would have been handy and I believe the decision to go for goal when it was 6-6 was the correct one.Ouir handling was diabolical which cost us the game, what was Jennings thinking when he threw the pass to no one after we were battling to get off our line.

Under pressure and pushing the pass instead of getting back to basics.

                  Exactly.
We should've taken the second kick at goal.
                  We didn't.
We stuffed it...and the game was gone.
Momentum, pressure, possession of the ball...seem to be lost on many of our players.

I can understand the thinking in not taking the 2 the second time because Adam Reynolds doesn't miss too many.

Taking the 2 the first time they were thinking 'let's get in front and roll on from there'.

In saying that, I thought the first decision was a mistake because we had a little bit of a roll on there and would have scored had we held onto the ball. But hey, we couldn't hold the thing any other time so I don't see why they would have there.

                      Panic stations, obviously.
                      Hopefully he'll never panic again.

I can't criticise him too much in this first game...after his horizontal fabulous flying "Superman" try in the GF...the final nail in Manly's coffin.
                      And his treble against Wigan.

I have no problems with the taking of 2 points when offered, there is a line of thought that all points should be taken when offered. Apart from everything else it gives a break in place to , get a breath or reorganize. My issue is that we appeared to lacked on field leadership and direction , who settles the side and motivates ?, organizes the next set ?, identifies the weaknesses or target plays at these stoppages ?
                        Talk about missed opportunities.
