no club in their right mind would offer a front rower with long standing knee issues $900k a season, if by some chance we had that much cap room I would be prepaying contracts forward in 2015 and taking a run at either Folau or DCE for 2016, when guys like SKD and Maloney would be off the books.

Why would Maloney be off the books in 2016? He's been one of our better buys for years and he's not known for being injured - in fact he's a tough little bugger that can play through injury.

Don't pin your hopes on young Hastings, despite his pedigree there's no guarantee he'll make the grade.

While the Bulldogs welcomed Fifita's decision as a "triumph", Sydney Roosters chairman Nick Politis refuted the claim his club had offered Fifita a deal - let alone the one worth $900,000 a season.

"Whoever said that is a liar," Politis told Fairfax Media on Tuesday night. "There was no offer made to him by us at any time. We showed some interest but when we became aware of the amount of money that was being thrown around we did not even make an offer.

I wouldn't pay any prop more than 600k in today's cap. And that's Jared or James Graham type money.

I'm also stunned they can afford to pay Fifita 850k and Lichaa 300k when hr hasn't even played first grade. This is on top of 600k for T-Rex and 350k for Klemmer.
