Nathan Peats has been stood down and fined by Parramatta over off-field incident

Parramatta’s bright start to 2014 has been darkened after the NRL pressured the club to suspend hooker Nathan Peats over an off-season incident involving a female acquaintance in Bali.

Peats will sit-out Saturday night’s clash against the Roosters as punishment for the incident, which occurred at a friend’s wedding while he was still contracted to South Sydney last October.

I would much rather be watching both teams @ full strength.

We can still run with a pack of JWH, Friend, Moa, Cordner, Guerra, FPN - Mortimer, Napa, Aubusson, Casty/Evans

They only have 1 recognised backup hooker in Kaysa Pritchard and he's injured and after watching Peats vs Warriors he's a huge improvement on Keating, he's going to be a big loss.

Side note to Peats... I don't remember seeing friend blow so hard as what he was the other night. He looked buggered.

They will either promote Sandow to Half and Kelly to hooker or bring in Forans brother who they signed in off season who can play hooker and half.

The NRL Integrity Unit found Peats inappropriately pushed the woman away during the function, which incited a brief altercation with other guests.

However, witness accounts claim the 23-year-old had been verbally harassed for a considerable period beforehand. Peats and the woman were known to one another from Sydney.

“Nathan had only one or two drinks and kept his cool for quite some time,” one witness said. “There ended up being contact between them, but the woman definitely wasn’t injured and he left shortly afterwards.”

While no criminal charges were laid following an internal investigation and consultation with the NRL's Integrity Unit, it was deemed Peats should be sanctioned by the club.

Peats must also undergo an anger management course provided by NRL's welfare and education department.


And all this happened when?
Oh, in the off-season.
His first mistake was ever setting foot in Bali, the place seems jinxed for Aussies...one dies every 9 days there, plus all the other horrors that befall them...food poisoning, methanol-laced drinks etc.

Here's an idea...all footy players must be assigned bodyguards by the NRL...to keep abusive women etc out of the players' faces etc.

our boys just looked tired at the souffs. we contributed 16 to wcc and souffs ummmmm 2 or 3. souffs got smashed by wiggles in a preseason.

Sounds like Souffs were wound up to beat us.

We have plenty more to give.

I think it's all about injuries and suspensions. If we have minimal of these then we should be sweet.
