  • Fifita's shoulder charge vs SBW''s shoulder charge

if Fifita doesn't cop 2-3 weeks out for his shoulder charge tonight the whole system is a rort, absolutely identical to SBW's hit on George Burgess from Thursday night.

Easts need to stand tough like last year and play with adversity, if we are going to go back to back.. We will never be on a level playing field when it comes to decision..

    GO EASTS!

So long as it's the same grading.

Loading might mean a different no. of weeks.

Sonny Bill Williams had loading points that increased the length of the suspension.

            Looks the same.

            Only gonna miss one week.
            Baaah!

SBW needs to start playing within the rules and modify his tacking style.

good to see Fifita cop the same grading as SBW will be out 2-3 weeks depending on whether he takes early guilty plea.

You are a bunch of alarmist shandy drinkers.

The two charged hit the heads of opponents with arms tucked in.

It's pretty simple, you can't tuck your arm in and you can't hit someone in the head.

It's early in the season. Heaps of errors, injuries and mistimed tackles.

                      Happens every year.

There is also the whole can of worms about concussions. Ex players will sue the game and really destroy it unless the rule makers cover themselves with rule changes.

This forums gone soft, the game is still one for hard young men.

                        Yes they did

                        No you cannot

Being suspended for innocous hits such as this has not happened every year Hence many people being pissed off and saying the game has gone soft

It is not just this forum But the general consensus among most people whom I have spoken with and have seen comment on this on social media

Mate it's not soft to eradicate shoulders to the head.

It has to be done these days. Litigation WILL kill the game unless the suits act. Not banning a risky type of tackle.

Fark me I recall when the shoulder charge was discouraged by coaches cos more often than not the defender bounced off and the attacker offloaded or picked up 5-10 more metres.

Personally I'd keep the shoulder charge. One to the head automatic 6 weeks. Second offence 12 weeks. Etc. Irrespective of injury or not. I guarantee the shot will be eradicated within a season or two. Players that keep doing it won't get a run. The risk will be too high.

To say the game is soft without the shoulder charge is just bullshit cliche media dribble.

BTW your selective quoting took my posts contents out of context. My "happens every year" comment was about "errors, injuries and mistimed tackles" being an early season thingy.
