mandy dominated the tackles last night.
when we tackle, the tacklers have a 1 2 3 time to mark up and/or get back to the defensive line. We hit hard in tackles, don't lay all over the opposition and try to get to our feet quicker than the tackled. a quick release and a set line.

while on the other hand last night mandy was rolling us onto our backs, rotating us around and getting dominant tackle calls all night.
when you have the ball in your hands you want a quick play the ball, we didn't because of the dominant nature of mandys defence.

Our defence was excellent. Two years ago in the same situation they would have put 30 on us. One issue I'm noticing is that our 5th tackle kicking options seem to be limited to bombs for Tupou. Teams are picking us off at will by shielding us.

A grubber certainly wouldn't go astray. If the opposition has three or four players on the edge shielding, they'll just end up getting in each others way trying to get a low bouncing ball out of the in-goal. A grubber back towards the middle would add variety and if they expect the former situation, it will also mean less players.
