'Decades' may have been stretching it a little bit, but he was spot on, particularly with the 'subconscious bias' comment and the fact that the bigger stadiums are levelers. There is also the problem that once you get a reputation as being a team that gives away a lot of penalties, the refs will act accordingly, like they do with individual players with a reputation. The Roosters are no more ill-disciplined than any team in the comp, yet they cop it week in, week out. I couldn't believe one penalty when Manly dropped the ball in a tackle, the ref was right on top of it and was going to award a scrum and Cummins,15 metres away, awards a penalty! Can you imagine if this was happening to Souths? They would be tearing the joint down and News Ltd would be conducting a campaign on their behalf to give them a fair go! But because it's the Roosters, no-one gives a stuff. Commentators still keep saying they must be ill-disciplined. The fact that some commentators last year had the gall to suggest that they were doing it deliberately as a tactic and backing their defence was ludicrous! (But as the Roosters are the top team, surely they MUST be cheating in some way!)

But yesterday we surrendered, after 5 days, ...as the others flying the red, white and blue flag did long ago.
They had an excuse...they were facing tanks, guns, bullets, and bombs, impossible odds.Last edited by bondi-boy; 04-02-2014, 10:44 AM.

The only thing that's surrendering is your attitude, bondi boy. You have the most defeatist attitude ... you seriously would think we won the spoon based on your constant whinging as opposed to perhaps the best year in our 106 year history.
And ftr, Perenara is second only to Cummins. I don't mind Hayne though.

Not complaining about Perenara and Cummins, are you?

Roosters vow to improve their discipline
April 1, 2014 - 3:38PM Darren Walton
The Sydney Roosters say there'll be no more moaning about referees as they vow to take responsibility for their ill-discipline and refocus on their NRL title defence.
But after losing to Manly, having also copped a 28-8 round-one hiding against South Sydney when caned 12-6 in the penalty count, the Roosters now accept they need to improve their discipline and stop giving opposition teams a leg-up.

If I remember correctly we were down towards the bottom of the ladder in 2012 and looked in danger of getting the spoon...until we rallied and won some games.
