In games like that where you are coming off your line all night and defending constantly I'm guessing the plan is for the back 5 to take those early hit ups to use their fast feet and quick play the balls to hopefully draw a penalty, I know lol, or at least get the defence rolling backwards.

It also gives the forwards a breather.

I hate seeing Mini get monstered too. But it's surely part of the job he's asked to do.

Again we don't lie down, dive to the floor or play for penalties or advantages.

Some might call it foolish considering the rules but I love our attitude in that regard.

I hate when Mini is returning the ball off our own line. Instead of getting low he keeps himself upright & getting pushed back into the ingoal.

I hate that too. He has always run too upright especially since the back injuries.

I am guessing that is part of the problem here and with the rolling ball, slightly mentally that back.

But he doesn't get driven back anywhere else on the filed. Only within our own 10m.

              Me three.

It's been part of Mini for over a decade. That and dropping the pill in clutch situations.

              Love the bloke tho.

Working your way off your own line is made difficult when the referee allows the defenders to stand 3 or 4 meters offside.

But, when this happens, you can at least be consoled by the fact that Ben Cummins will reprimand the opposition captain before the next scrum. He won't penalise the opposition, but he will at least speak to their captain.

Or maybe write a sternly worded letter after the game.

LOL, funny but also excruciatingly painful because its true!!

Yeh he's lost all his upper body strength through those injuries. Needs to get smarter, when he took that bomb last night the first thing he needed to do was go to ground, not allow them to drag him back into the in goal. It's little things like those from a lot of the players last night that made it so hard for us to get into the grind & compete.

Completely agree.. Play it safe and go do ground quick, straight onto elbows and knees if possible for a quick play the ball. Our one out shit from within our own 20m isnt working either. We need more players around the ball.. I know they're tired from defending sets after (referee aided) repeat sets but we will always get smashed and driven back unless we have players in motion and put them in two minds. At that moment its predictable and leaving them easy to pick off.

Exactly big fella. For as long as he has been playing he has always ran far too upright from his line. He has been driven back in goal so many times yet continues to do it.

Never had a chance to go to ground on that one. Was perfect timing from Matai, as soon as mini caught it he wrapped him up and just used his momentum
