  • Jason Ryles quits France for Roosters

FORMER Dragons front-rower Jason Ryles has returned home and will sign with the Roosters this week.

Ryles flew into Sydney last night and is awaiting a formal release from his contract with French Super league club Catalans before inking a two-year deal to play under Brian Smith.

The 30-year-old former Test and Origin front-rower ended eight seasons with St George Illawarra at the end of 2008 to link with the French club on a three-year $1.7 million deal.

His debut season ended with a shoulder injury and he was keen to return to the NRL.

He will pick up where O'Meley left off in 2008, and Nutley left off in 2007.

Let us view 2009 as a year that need not be mentioned again .

We will be happy with his signing in hindsight.

Maybe we could get Soliola back.

That was my initial reaction as well.
However, after suffering 2009 I have decided to have total faith in Brian Smith.
If Smith wants to give him a go that should be cool, bearing in mind that head coach should have complete say in the playing roster.
If Ryles don't perform the way the coach expects, he'll wind up his career as a bluebag.
                      Hope he came cheap.

                          How original..

I think you have got the wrong player to use that old one on...

                          Ryles never shirks his responsibility..

Even if that was true, it says more about the rest of the signings than it does about Ryles
