  • I think Buzz Rothfield thought it was April fools day today

comes out and writes a pro Roosters article saying we got shafted with the 2014 draw, although we knew that the day it was released last year.

he also is slamming the refs for the debacle that occurred on Friday night.

and finally he has taken multiple pot shots at his golden boy Carney over the past 24yrs, firstly it was about his behaviour and secondly his awful attitude/defense yesterday.

I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st.

Yep just commented on that myself in the Big O's thread. I nearly fell off my seat when I read it!

He's kidding if he thinks Maloney deserves to play SOO this year. On current form, he's unlikely to make the Cowra Cowturds...

I think the Blues halves will be Reynolds/Pearce.

Although the Blues don't have a recognised goal kicker which could play into BBQs hands.

              I hear Cordner's a great goal kicker.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

                Couldn't agree more.

Sadly Maloney has been garbage this year.

You could forgive the first round or two but it has been four on the trot.

Don't be lulled, the prick hates us, he'll blame us for dumping Carney on him next.

                  Chook.

Did anyone see his article today about 2 9 team conferences, one sydney sides, one regional sides, playing in their own conference twice thru for 16 games, then against the other conference once for 9 games.

                      25 games in total.

Top 8 with a top 4 from each conference meeting.

It's actually a very valid idea IMO.

I don't know if someone hasn't stolen his PC and is actually coming up with well written worthy articles. Or Rothwitt is on one hell of a bender.

I'm waiting for the punch line though.

He has to justify his existence since the NRL changed hands, and he isn't being hand-fed gossip.

It's not a bad model when you look at it.
Rather then the Sydney teams in one conference and the rest in another, maybe it should be based on previous years positioning on the table. Teams that finish 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15 in one pool and 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16 in the other. Would make for a more even comp that way

I think the way they're looking at it mate is crowds especially in Sydney. Creating more rivalries and giving sides the opportunities to home and away in Sydney. Also 4 guaranteed sides in the semis from Sydney each season.

And saves them travelling as much as potentially they can now or could with the method you've highlighted mate. Imagine being the only sydney side in that conference??? Would be a nightmare travel wise.

Similar to the NFL model, AFC and NFC.

It's an interesting idea IMO. I'm still suss Rothwitt actually wrote it.
