    Well said people.

First we lit the fire, and now we've put it out with cold water.

All that remains is scorched earth, absent of memory.

Let it flourish with fruit, unblemished by the past.

    Make sense?

By adding pressure to the referees, it is my opinion that you make them more cautious in their approach. It may not be 'ethical' but neither is getting penalised whilst our opponents get a free ride. If things do change, I wonder for how long it will be for before we have more rants.
I'd be thinking that the coach will say something along the lines of "fark worrying about penalties we don't get. Just go out and play your natural game. Don't hold anything back.".

My reasoning being you can't worry about what isn't likely to happen, an even count most weeks.

The quicker the players put it out of their minds the less chance we have of it affecting their headspace.

Therefore I like the clubs stance.

      Leave well enough alone.

If there's a dramatic howler that costs us again, sure mention the fact.

But the more the players hear of this, the more our club highlights perceived bias, the more chance the players psyche will be penetrated.

Last year we were immune to such talk, although the problem was as ever present as ever.

IMO the games as psychological as physical. Even more so these days with most clubs being as big and fit and skillful as each other.

I can see it in his eyes, I can see it in his mind. The Bwaiff syndrome.

      You know it makes sense.

I'm really lucky with the people I work with Greeds. No-one would dare rubbish us after the way our team played and carried themselves throughout the finals last year. There is really nothing for them to take a shot at me about because they have no ammo. Most of them follow teams like St George, Parra, Canterbury or Wests, so just winning a couple of games in a row is cause for celebration for them. Plus they have all seen how Manly carry on and will continue to carry on for decades to come because that is their culture. They all liked my "Manly play for penalties and Easts play for trophies" slogan..

If I remember correctly "Roosters vow to improve their discipline" was what the team said before the Manly game.

. Manly was offside all night.
. Manly's chasers were in front of the kicker much of the time.
. Many forward passes by Manly not penalised/pulled up.
. High tackle/s by Manly not penalised.
. Ref coaching Manly, penalising us.
            etc

It's not all about our discipline!

We should just have said nothing further after Trent's line in the sand comments, and carried on with training...instead of kicking sand over the line and retreating.

                I agree with Stace.

Robbo's stretched the issue to its outer limits, and is now reeling it in in preparation for Friday.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Robbo received his response by the ref's boss as to the performance last Friday.

Whilst having no inside knowledge, I'd guess Robbo being Robbo, would have stats that could support his case of us being discriminated over many seasons. He probably stated to the NRL officials that if this one-sided refereeing continues, he's release the stats or continue this sentiment at press conference.

The fact that the players are now publically saying they need to improve their discipline is possibly code for "the refs will ease up and it will be because Easts has addressed it's discipline issue". Anyone who has read Napoleon Hill's book, "How to win friends and influence people" will know of leaving your opponent a face saving exit, allowing them to withdraw with their dignity intact. This IMHO is what Robbo and the Board has orchestrated.

The proof will be a slow improvement in the count for the next few weeks before we start winning the count outright after this.

I could be wrong but this is what my instinct says is going on.

We are lucky Robbo is our coach for having the strategy and the patience and eloquence to deliver his message. I, like others, would have walked the team by now...

I agree - this is probably the strategy the Roosters are pursuing. I hope it works.

                          New Refs boss?

I had hopes, given what he said and sounded like when interviewed on 2GB earlier this year.
Now, if I ever hear him start to be interviewed anywhere again, I'll switch him off...very quickly.
                          Nothing has changed.

I'm not the slightest bit interested in hearing anything he has to say.
I won't be reading anything he writes either.
I've purged his name from my mind already.

If things were to change in the future, I might...might...get interested in him again...might.

New NRL Commission, new Refs boss, ...and not one thing has changed...we still seem to be getting shafted.
