Do I need to get moderators to show that I'm only one person on here?

He probably stated to the NRL officials that if this one-sided refereeing continues, he's release the stats or continue this sentiment at press conference.

The fact that the players are now publically saying they need to improve their discipline is possibly code for "the refs will ease up and it will be because Easts has addressed it's discipline issue". Anyone who has read Napoleon Hill's book, "How to win friends and influence people" will know of leaving your opponent a face saving exit, allowing them to withdraw with their dignity intact. This IMHO is what Robbo and the Board has orchestrated.

The proof will be a slow improvement in the count for the next few weeks before we start winning the count outright after this.

I could be wrong but this is what my instinct says is going on.

We are lucky Robbo is our coach for having the strategy and the patience and eloquence to deliver his message. I, like others, would have walked the team by now...
I really R..E..A..L..L..Y hope you are right Axe, but unfortunately I think it is just wishful thinking! I will believe it when I see it, and judging by history, I very much don't see it happening!

The NRL are arrogant ar$eholes, they don't give a flying f*** about our plight as they know that they can do the hell as they like and get away with it!

Some on here say that whinging gets you nowhere, well it certainly seemed to work for Manly after Toovey went off his head and called for an investigation!!

If the bull$hit continues on, which I have no doubt that it will, then the club must take some drastic actions! As mentioned by a few others on here, they owe it to the Roosters fans, sponsors and everyone associated with the club to do whatever it takes to put an end to this oppressive tyranny that has gone on for far far too long!!

The bottom line is, we fans pay our good money to be entertained and get a fair go. This simply and most definitely is not happening!! I and I am sure most if not all of you were not entertained by last Friday nights farcical fiasco!! We watch football to see the talents of the players on display, not to watch some referee with a power trip take over and dominate proceedings, shackling the players and preventing them from being able to ply their talents, and completely end up ruining the game as a spectacle!!

We want/expect/deserve for the players to decide the outcome, not some lunatic in pink with an ulterior motive!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

        Here's looking at you, kid.

Oracle. I'm just stating it as I see it. I am putting together our players' response that we must improve our game and the fact that nothing was reported about Trent meeting or receiving a referees report in response to his request at the press conference. To me it just sounds like a deal has been done.

I think what has gone on is not to be tolerated and an investigation should take place. Perhaps that what Trent threatened... As I say, I'm just guessing and hoping the fairness of the refereeing improves to give us on a long term, consistent basis, an even chance in every/most matches.

            Deal?

Oh...what like when Murdoch and Packer reportedly sat in a luxury boat in the middle of the ocean and carved up rugby league, after the first season of separate ARL and Superleague competitions?

"I'll give you the ARL for a unified comp if you give me Fox movies" etc?

Deals are a two way street...so if a deal has been agreed upon, then we demand that the traffic flows both ways...and that our matches be refereed fairly and with no lopsided penalty counts, no mistakes made not in our favour [like passes by us that aren't forward being ruled forward for example], and other teams are penalised for things we're penalised for.
And penalties to other teams not all awarded to get them into an attacking position on our 20, and the penalties awarded to us not all awarded down our end of the field [not in an attacking position for us].
If they think we don't have binoculars and a tape measure then they should think again.

I don't understand what you want BB.

IF a deal has been done, I'd assume TR would get what he wants and that is fairness.

                That's it Axe!

I hope you are right and that Robbo has had major discussions with the NRL for us to get a fair go, and that it has happened behind closed doors for the NRL to save face, and that the NRL has assured Robbo that things will improve!

Only time will tell, but if I were to bet on it, I would bet that things stay the same as they have been for many many years.

I never went for the conspiracy BS HOWEVER I feel that the referees have always seen our clubs as safe and we wont complaint much or retaliate like others would. We're the 'Nice guys' who keep on keeping on. If we had the mentality of Manly, or the support of souths or Canterbury or even the presence of a Bennett, I'm sure we'd be getting a fairer deal. I hope that we get a positive result out of this wee li'l whinge but like oracle said, I'll believe it when I see it.

Hi Axe -it's always a pleasure to read your comments.logical and reasonable and often factual.I suspect the board has backed Trent to the hilt. You mention fairness in what the club wants and Trent spoke honestly at the press conference without being too emotional whilst he spoke of us playing it fair. His character type as a coach the NRL have never experienced before and due to that i think they could be on the back foot whether a deal has been done or not.

Thanks for your comments and support Paul.

I think you are right that TR's candid approach would be perplexing to the NRL. I also think TR is well supported by some pretty astute businessmen on our board and backed up with good legal advice.

I feel but do not know for fact that we have compiled stats to support our point of view.

Apart from walking the team off several seasons ago, I would take the same approach that I've outlined. I'm hoping that is what the Roosters have done as it gives us a good position to negotiate peace.

Well I just came back from the obligatory team bonding, playing lawn bowls over at North Sydney behind Bear Park and I spent the afternoon heckling the Manly fans asking what the penalty count was...my managers all joined in as they follow Canterbury and Parra. Everyone feels ripped off when their team plays Manly. Someone really does need to sit down and compile the stats from the early 1970's up until the present time. Factually correct information cannot be argued with or deemed paranoia nor conspiracy.

Good luck with that. Unfortunately it will have as much credence as what the Warren Commission had with JFK.

Surely its just a case of concentrate on what you can control. Stop whinging and get on with it. That seems like Robbo's style.

Peter Sterling mentioned once how he hated when the refs coach the opposition. There were moments when Cummins was telling Manly players what they were doing wrong. As Sterlo said, don't tell them what they are doing wrong, just blow your whistle and penalise them for it!
