  • And the star of tonight's show will be...

    Shayne Hayne!

Shayne's form in screwing the Roosters has not been good. In fact, we have won 62% of the games he has controlled. This compares with an overall win rate during the time he has been a referee of 54%. Not good enough.

Amazingly, over 14 years he has given us almost as many penalties as he has given our opponents - the ratio of penalties received to penalties given is a disappointing 0.95. He needs to ignore many more of our opponents' infringements if he is to reach the stellar heights of Rooster screwing achieved by Ben "Mr Fix It" Cummins whose ratio, over 9 years, is table topping 0.78 - by far the best in the National Referees League.

I'm betting Shayne has psyched himself up for a big game tonight. My tip: Canterbury 8 - Roosters 4 (in the penalty count).

Blow that whistle, ref. Blow that whistle.

It's not always the number of penalties, but where exactly on the field they're given, and if they're piggy backs.

My tip is Roosters to win penalty count tonight....

On a side note, who was the ref in last year's game vs Storm?? That was another shocking performance.... I just want to know if it was Ben Cumming-again as well.

How boring is 66. Although he does appeal to the masses on here.

I don't find 66 boring at all so I must be one of the masses. Oh to be so wise and aloof as you and TCB.

Are we proving Henry Perenara with an abacus?

I didn't call anyone boring but listening to you halfwits carry on about the refs year after year is so dull. How was it we won the premiership last year?

Mr Hayne was the referee that night. Melbourne won the penalties 7-6.
