Twice this week I saw articles saying we're the best team in the competition, NRL Power Rankings had us number 1 despite losing to Manly, and Voss came out and said we're still the top contenders. I completely fail to see why, we've looked average all year, not horrible, but not like a team that deserves to go back to back.
People keep talking up our goal line defence, it's good, but it's nowhere near what it was last year, compare the Round 3 Broncos game from this year to last and look just how much our defence has dropped. In attack our forwards are continually driven back and our backline aren't creating chances the way they did last year, Maloney/SBW/Jennings were making more Line Breaks than we knew what to do with in 2013, haven't seen any of that this year.
BUT, I'm not trying to say 'we're so ****ing shit, we're back to 2009, TR's lost it' etc. that i'm sure we'll see in countless posts over the next 2 hours, I don't think we're without a chance of winning this year, but the way we're playing now looks like an average Top 8 side, certainly not back to back material. But hey, i'll take it over 2009/11 8 days a week.I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

The biggest difference from last year is our inability to play quickly, play the balls seems so frustratingly slow.. Last year we had the teams turning around and making far more yardage with our sets. Making less than 50 meters in any set in todays game is abysmal, and unless we solve this and quick we'll lose a few more of these tight games unfortunately. Friend seems to be the only one who speeds up our sets from dummy half. Also what happened to our second phase? The opposition defense was only troubled when we spread the ball in the dying minutes. We're so much better than the bulldogs but we lost that one tonight due to pretty dumb play.

We played in wet conditions againt Parramatta and won by 50 points.
It is not the ground, it is not the referees. It is us and the opposition.
The past 2 weeks we have had, at some stage, JWH out, SBW out, and Maloney playing like rubbish. Arguably our 3 best players and we were in each game until the very end.
If we lost by 20+ in both games then it is time to worry. It isnt.
