  • Another Saturday Night Stitchup

Just checked out the penalty ratios for the men in pink this Saturday night and they are both highly favourable towards Cronulla and don't like us. Expect another 2 to 1 penalty count against us.

Alan Shortall Cronulla 1.19 Roosters 0.83
Henry Perenara Cronulla 1.23 Roosters 0.93

If we lose to the busted sharks on sat night, season over. Penalties or not, they are rubbish with their players out and if this cant kick start the chooks, nothing can.

The penalties down there are usually 1-8, 1-9, or 2-9 against us.
We 'never' see the ball, and all we do is tackle all night.

The BB household has stopped going to Shark Park...big waste of time.
And the fans there were not to our liking, shall we say.

Another conspiracy theory conspiracy post from one of the usual conspiracy conspiracists (who also has stated numerous times that Ben Cummins and others are corrupt).

            I smell a conspiracy?

Did you enjoy the grand final we weren't allowed to win?

I have stated that i think Gavin Badger thouroughly despises Easts but i am not one of the conspiracy brigade who wait for the referees to be announced each week before unleashing a hate filled tirade against the NRL, and I'm not constantly twitching or checking behind me either.

Yes I did very much. I also enjoyed seeing another 20 games last year in person - putting me, compared to you sitting in computer land half way north to Indonesia, in the enviable position of being able to comment on games I have actually seen in person, not read about or seen on TV.

Just one question - why do you say my team wasn't allowed to win?? They did win you silly thing! I smell another conspiracy.

                  BTW bite your bum

Those figures actually give us a chance!

I thought we agreed not to talk about corruption or conspiracies here? We agreed that what we are seeing instead is entrenched (but completely understandable and entirely acceptable human) bias.

Just as I was beginning to understand and accept this happy state of affairs...

The tripe that passes for refereeing of our matches leaves the officials open to all sorts of allegations by people.
2-11 penalty counts against us at our home games, for example.
6-12, 3-10, 1-9 penalty counts against us at away games, for example.

And most importantly, in the first half of most matches, when all the players are fresh and we have the most chance of scoring...1-6, 1-7, 1-8 and the like penalty counts against us.
In most matches and at most grounds.

Crowds are decreasing, looks like Campelltown West/Tigers fans have had enough of the NRL.
Their Leagues club is no longer part of the Wests/Tigers group, and the crowds have been poor down there.
Apparently members parking on match days has been banned or something.

The NRL will kill the game if what passes for refereeing continues.

It's been suggested to me by more than one person that all and sundry would likely be happy to see the Roosters disappear from the NRL and Alliance stadium, as Souths could then just move in and set up a new home.

Easts are just a power brokers club with endless cash to throw at superstars at an attemp to win premierships at any cost, With seven coaches in 14 years and buys such as fittler, wing, mason, anasta , jennings, maloney, SBW and now possibly targeting folau or Ferguson, there is no soul, and relocation or not being in the league at all would have no impact with the media or fan bases at all.

That is the thinking of the majority of people I speak to when they ask who I support.

But id much rather have success at any cost, than no success such as raiders, souths, parra warriors and many other teams.

Exactly. Arguably the three most successful clubs since the turn of the century have been us, Manly and Melbourne (all bar 2 grand finals have consisted of at least one of those teams). Considering Melbourne cheated for half a decade, that leaves us and Manly, surprise, surprise, the two clubs that get the piss taken out of them for 'buying premierships'.

Like you said, i would much rather splurge out on quality players and 'buy' a premiership, than sit back and wait 20 years (Canberra, Cowboys, Warriors), 40 years (Souths) or even 50 years (Sharks) for a premiership.
