Yes he missed a few but they came after a few blokes in the line missed the same player and missed those tackles badly.

    I thought he played well.

Come on backwards. Surely you can admit that Mini had a stinker tonight? Only a fanboy could be so blind. :P

His highlight was missing the ball through his legs completely en route to the RTS try.

    He had a horrid game.

By the way he missed 4 of his 6 tackles. Some of them were embarrassing as the players got around him like he wasnt there.

His pick up off the Carney chip was class though.

    • His pick up off the Carney chip was class and at a very vital time of the match.
I'll go so far as to say that it likely saved a try, and possibly the match.

A lot of tricky running and swerving by the Sharks last night, elusive some of their new players.
Very RTS-like some of them...you line them up to tackle, and when you get there they've moved.

      • I have to say that Mick Jenning's passing to Skd to score in the corner was unselfish team play at it's best. He could have try to score himself but he knew the try was more important than personal glory.

You know Johnny, over the past few weeks he doesn't pass that and gets held up or he throws it and it gets called forward. Our luck has started to turn IMO. We executed a lot better last night and again in the very early stages we go so close to scoring but fall short. I have no doubt that if we score those tries early on in the past 3-4 matches our confidence gets a massive boost and we go on and win all those games and are sitting pretty with only 1 loss. Luck has started to shift and our confidence will take a huge boost from last night, we are starting to turn the corner

I recall twice he desperately got under players who were over the line. And once he scrambled from one of those efforts and took a kick in the in goal across the field to save a try.

He also positioned himself well to take most kicks on the full and bring them back and get us on the front foot.

RTS again showed why Mini was kept. He makes basic errors. But that's fair cos he has the skill to counter those errors. And he's a baby, he will learn, that's why he's getting expierence on the wing with the odd foray into the FB role.

Kinda reminds me of another bloke who started as a raw winger with potential, learnt from a very expierenced FB, then eventually took the reigns.

But of course I'm sure I'm wrong. Like the coach.

A pity Rooster fans can't last the same length of time before going completely off the rails.

Reading this thread some of you gooses are downright embarrassing.

                  Chook.
You mean the fans can't stay composed thru 80 mins of footy mate???

                  Glad our players can though.

This thread is my favourite read of the week. The flashes of anger and the roller coaster posting makes it. Imagine some of their neighbours. They'd have to leave their residences during Easts games.

And I hope none of them have pets. Or wives.

                    • spot on johhny jenko played for his team not himself lazst night and his putting skid in to score epitomised that big time, at least bbq added the extras from the corner that play from jenko epitomises a team of great players not a mob of superstars, so i really feel we may have turned the corner in this game regardless of the win?weve got our mojo back baby!

The small omission here is It is the fullbacks job to make these tackles Overall I dont think Mini was terrible But his defense was diabolical I dont think I have seenn a fullback miss so many tackles like Mini did last night since Ben Barba in 2008 against Penrith late that year

I have backed Mini to the hilt on here But last night defensively was not good enough I am sure that he will bounce back to his very best next week

                        • I thought it was a pretty good effort.

The Sharks threw everything at us and are a better team than their position on the ladder suggests.

We had a fair try disallowed with the bomb tap back and Guerra lost his footing when he looked certain to score.

I'm tipping a festival of points against the Steerlers.

It was one pass SJ. I feel that his intentions were anymore not knowing if he was going to make the try or not. I would have preferred he scored as that pass was delivered so fast to SKD that it could have been dropped. On Jenko, well he needs to get himself more involved. When he's on SOO, you will see more involvement from him than what he's done for us this year. Jenko is missing most games.

                            • My view of the game, as of half time...

                              - Aubo is gold, he will absolutley play anywhere and he simply wont let you down, i understand backwards' love for him.
                              - Running at Carney all night was the go, he was shocking in defence, and little better in attack.
                              - Minichiello played well, both running the ball and making try saving and cover tackles, still cant catch an inside ball though.
                              - Moa can only run hard and fast.
                              - The Great Wall of Bondi is in the process of being rebuilt, which is good, however there were some poor misses, notably SBW on Leutele and Pearce on Graham, both of which led to tries.
                              - RTS is still a bit raw under the high ball, but his dazzling try from nothing leads me to believe he will be a great fullback, and the ball playing he demonstrated further supports this.

                              • Not forgeting FPN's contribution...two try saving tackles, and standing up to the Sharks' intimidators in front of the posts.
