Brian is in love with Mini's body, hahahahahaaaaaaaaa.

He sounds pretty keen on Carney at 1 still.

                Seems I am - bugger.

Just caught a snippet about Peter Wallace to st merge in a swap for Darius Boyd back to the wancos.

I'm pretty sure rcptn touched on all of them, but the main ones were
                    - Minichiello is back to great fitness, has a better body then kurt gidley according to brian and is hitting top speed again
                    - Todd Carney is still being considered as a fullback because it will allow pearce and anasta to retain the combination they've developed over the last 2 years and not require a new combination to be made, this would push mini to wing.
                    - When asked about Willie, Brian said they were asking the wrong man and just confirmed whats already been said, if he can find another contract he's free to go, if not then he sees out his last year.
                    - They asked if there was a possibility of any more signings and Brian flat out said no
                    - JP Duplessis is still coming, apparently arrives next week but he seemed unsure as to when exactly
                    - 2010 will be a better year for the Roosters

That was about all he covered, when Brian left they said that Boyd is very unhappy at the Dragons and they are looking to do a straight trade of Boyd for Wallace with the Broncos
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

Todd Carney is our best 5/8 option.
As to Pearce and Anasta to retain the combination they have developed over the past 2 years, with no disrespect to either player,it has not really set the world on fire and it is time to try something new.Not sure how Anasta will come back after that hideous injury either so i would like to think Carney is thought of as the first choice for 5/8.
We are well covered at full back with Mini[if fully fit] and Sammy,i would only consider Carney at fullback if either of these players are not available.

Personally I don't think its a good idea.

                        I'd rather

                        6. Carney
                        7. Pearce

                        13. Anasta

...and if Smith is worried about Anasta's defense at lock, then he can defend Anasta in the centres and Aubusson at lock.

If we wanted to retain the Pearce and Anasta combination, why sign Carney?
                          ...

'We' and Brian Smith seem to be on different pages.

Anasta will be the biggest loser in this halves triangle and arguably the least deserving. If it wasn't for the captaincy I wonder whether he'd be looking for a new club with Mase... unless he can prove himself at lock I don't see him fulfilling his contract unfortunately.

Anasta will be fine. I wont be surprised if he doesnt re-sign for the rest of his NRL career. He is one very rare player in our current crop of idiots, that actually cares. When Shittler played him at Fullback, did Anasta cry aout it? He laughed, like everyone else, and should have told Shittler "Youre off your head". but he did it. He faced teh embarassment and tried to play a position he isnt. Lock is a different proposition. he can and will play lock and do it effectively.

Only Smith can **** that up. If Anasta does leave its because Smith gives him no other choice. As far as Im concerned Anasta can hold his head way way up high (only one of only a couple that can).
