Agreed. Looks like motivation is hard to find at the moment. He also seems a bit frustrated with his own form. Robbo needs to find a way to challenge him.
I think he is lacking the challenge to perform to his optimum level.
He has always been one to be motivated by fresh challenges whether it be boxing, union or coming back to the NRL with us. I knew from the start of the season that he wouldnt be the same this year for this very reason.
I still believe he will have a good year, but by September it's Cordner who will be exciting the masses as the games new premier second rower.
They are both busting their arses but are making basic errors and seem to try too hard to make up for those errors which appears to be making them just make more errors.
Form is temporary but class doesn't just disappear that easily.
I have faith both will be leading us when it counts later in the season.
I thought Sonny was instrumental yesterday. He was working his butt off in defence, covering when others dropped off tackles - Classic one-percenter SBW.
He mightn't be dominating in the same way as last year, but he was still dominant.
I will add that just having him on the park creates space for others as he is checked so closely. His higher mistake rate seems the diff which I can't explain.. Certainly no lack of effort from him.
Maybe I'm just snakey as I keep making him super coach captain and getting dud scores!
To me it seems that alot of times he has been trying to draw players to him and then pass it to someone hitting a hole. I think he sjould just get back to the basics of hitting the line hard and looking for an offload and eventually the rest will come.

I agree with you about the draw & pass. He was doing a lot more of that against Saints during the second half. I think teams have worked especially hard to contain the offloads. When he still tried to get the ball away in the first few games, SBW was knocking on or the pass was going astray.
He's been fine. Gets through a lot of hard work up the middle that's under appreciated whilst continually remaining to be a creative threat with ball in hand.
I thought he was one of our best last week against the Sharks and I thought he was good yesterday without being spectacular.
