Our next captain

Assuming Mini hangs up the boots at the end of the season, which of our current vice-captains do you think will be the captain next year? I think it will be a very hard choice to make, I'd consider the option of giving them all the title.

If he was more vocal, i'd give it to Friend. I think JWH is the best suited right now with maybe Friend as co-captain.

I don't think Pearce is a natural leader.

Cordner is far too in-experienced.

You mean after he score that try and before he saved a few tries on the line?

You know for all the calls from some in here to have RTS at fullback now, it seems that NZ don't think he is ready when he can't get the gig over a player that is mainly a reserve fullback for his club.

I'd just go 4 co-captains.

Pearce, JWH, Friend and Cords.

Our leaders for the next 7 years as a group.

But if I HAD to choose it'd be Jared.

JWH would be my choice, but maybe you need someone that is always on the pitch.
If so, I'd say Maloney as I think he has the head for it.
Pearce is often critised by others (not me) but I must say I don't think he had the head for it.
Friend is an amazing player and I love him dearly but he is not a captain (yet).

Maloney or Jarrod in the immediate future then once Boyd hits mid 20's he'd be the ideal replacement I think junior better off without the added responsibility.

I don't see jwh as captain material, with him likely to miss 4-5 games due to suspension a year, dont think it sets the right example, from memory I think the squeaky clean front rowers have been captains (price, webcke, petero)

Jwh may be a better captain at 28-29 or the other reason to give him captaincy may be as an added incentive to stay here.

I think its time junior steps up. He has been here for many years I think he gives 100%, he shows a lot of emotion and all the great halves have had a (c) next to their name at some point.

I think Friendy was captain of the Junior Rooster teams! I also like the idea of co-captains!
They could do a rotation from week to week!
