  • $38 for General Admission

Usually head to the Tigers game @ the SFS with about 10 mates (split of Wests & casual Roosters fans) but this year they've decided to head to the Tigers Vs Roosters game @ ANZ stadium instead purely due to the cost of entry.

Obviously I'll still go with my mates who have memberships (more than fairly priced) but it's hard to blame them. At $38 they're getting massively ripped off especially when you consider we don't get free public transport like you do if there's a game @ ANZ ($25 GA ticket).

I know a GA ticket gets you a 10x better seat in the SFS than it does at ANZ but at the end of the day I think a lot of people care more about how much it's going to cost them as opposed to how good their view is.

The club needs to come up with some kind of compromise where people (students & families) who can't justify paying $38 for a ticket can get a seat at the game too.

Wests Tigers Vs Easts is the type of game that should be a blockbuster, hitting 30k every year especially given we're the reigning premiers & how good the Tigers have started the season but I bet we struggle to even hit 20k.

Comparatively speaking a GA ticket to a Waratahs game is $25.

Management usually cop an unfair wrap on here & they do a lot of awesome work but I think they're killing interest in the club by cutting off those who like I said just can't justify paying $38 as an entry level ticket to the game in a stadium that wont even be half full.

If the Waratah's charge $25, we could charge $300 and you'd still be getting better value.

Are you sure the cheapest GA seat is $38? Doesn't sound right to me.

Still not bad value though, when you consider even a crap rock gig lasting about the same amount of time would set you back about $70.....

Sure, but a good gig might only cost you $20 if you see indie bands at live venues…

According to the Roosters website G.A tickets cost $33 plus $5 booking fee.

They are offering a family ticket (2 Adults + 2 Kids) for $50 but that's not relevant to Rooster6 and friends.

$38 is way too much IMHO.

$38.00 for a GA ticket is waay over the top. Should be $20 in a stadium which is rarely ever filled to capacity.

I mean, what would the club prefer as a PR look - 10,000 at $38 or $20,000 at $20??? I know which one I'd choose.

It's prices like these which has the casual league supporter sitting on the couch at home rather than attending matches. And the NRL wonder why crowds are down.

No doubt later in the week there will be some 'special' advertised, but that's not good enough. The tickets shouldn't be priced that high to start with.

R6's 10 mates should just buy 5 family tickets and say they are families. Just get them to hold hands as they approach the turnstyles.

Are they starting to categorise games? If we were playing say, the Titans, would they still be the same price?

I'm pretty sure they were $25 earlier this season...or maybe I'm thinking of last season.

Either way, they should be $25 or so....we should be trying to get people to games, not put them off!

How much input does the club have in determining the price?

This may sound ignorant, but what stops an adult walking in with kids tickets?

You scan the ticket and walk through, especially if there is a queue of people lining up, it may be wrong, but so is charging $38 for a G.A ticket.

I think r6 said they normally hold hands anyway so shouldn't be a prob.

The game this Friday is our home game?
The Tigers are no longer based at Allianz, and no longer have home games at Allianz?

$38 is way over the top. They will be lucky to get 15-17k to the game and 12k will be season ticket holders.

Entry point should be between $20-22 which was about the amount the Dragons charged as their entry point to the ANZAC Day game. Once you add the booking fee it is $25-$27.

Especially with Soccer (Football) making inroads with the success of the Wanderers. In future years, FC will get a boost once (if?) their team gets going. RL is not doing enough. It won't look good to have a more than half-empty stadium when we play a rival Sydney club who are currently doing well.

Also the practice of dropping the price the day or two before is not the best....as many people would have made alternative plans. It should be at the same rate all the time and they not punish the people who buy tickets early at a premium, only for them to find out they could have got them cheaper if they held off.

There has been much speculation this season about reasons for poor crowds and our games v dogs and manly have featured.

The answer is simple - cost of entry for walk up casual attendees is prohibitive.

My brother in law who is west tigers fan came to the eagles game with me and was shocked by 38 dollar GA cost. He wrote email complaint to NRL. At that game when crowd came up a few casual fans in row in front bagged the crowd. I pointed out prohibitive GA cost and they agreed and said would not be back.

Live games with big crowds are usually much higher standard and I am appalled by short sightnedness of our pricing. I am sure this up by at least 8 dollars if not more from last year.

Although GA season ticket still great value it is up 50 per cent on last year.

I am planning in getting about 20 of my family and friends there on Friday night as have a few sister in laws and husbands who are tigers fans.

I will point out ticket prices to them and call marketing tomorrow as this is just not good enough.
