I mean honestly, how hard is it to realise that even if bird loses his appeal, he'll still be leaving the Catalans either way..... HE'LL BE IN ****ING GAOL YOU DUMB **** JOURNO

IF the Catalans truly want Mason, but need Bird's money to pay for him, and IF Bird is really going to walk out on them if he wins his appeal, then Mason would be as good as theirs and the deal would hinge on nothing.
Good point. And all the constant journo baggers on here who whine about any Roosters article didn't even pick that one up.

Strange too how the whole piece is based around no luck in Japan, so manager going to Europe to speak to Catalans

Then right at the end he says "It's understood Mason is expected to receive a contract from one of two Japanese clubs over the next 10 days"

Greg Bird is an absolute grub, on and off the field. I'm surprised the GC are considering giving him an opportunity.

Le Catalans is the dumping ground for all those who can't enter England due to ineligibility because of police charges. I would have thought the Wanka could join any Club in the ESL as I believe he's managed to avoid police charges over the years.

How do you know he is a grub NC???

      Seriously,
      have you met the guy??

Has he poorly influenced others like Mason has been alleged to have done??
Is he disliked by former team mates and coaches??

      The answer is NO????

You are coming across as a goodie two shoes type who wants to put the boot into anyone that the telegraph has a set against.
      barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

I don't need the Telegraph to form an opinion for me, I am more than capable of forming my own.

Bird has been suspended a few times for on field discretions - and from memory that includes a lengthy one (kneeing??). So he is is no cleanskin there.

And as for off field, anyone who attempts to make a mate the fall guy for his own actions as well as his girlfriends is a pretty piss poor bloke if you ask me. And we won't even go near the minefield of his various court cases.

        If you think he's a decent bloke, that's fine. But I don't.

Dont believe everything you read in the papers NC.
He will get off all charges.

          And......kneeing pfffft.
          Joke there.

But I agree about getting the mate to take the fall.

I think he would regret that one.

I'm with you NC. I consider him a grub as well.
He was found guilty of kneeing Shane Martene in a game against Souffs (in 2004 i think) and copped 12 weeks. Looked really bad and inexusable.
Why the Titans would want to associate themselves with him has got me beat.

Bird is a grub on the field. No doubt about that one.

Agree with trewhella in that we don't actually no about him off it - but I believe he cracked his girlfriend in the face with a glass, which makes him one of the lowest forms of filth you'll find, and then tried to blame one of his mates for it, which makes him nothing but ****ing scum.

Him in the NRL or Mason, it's like having to choose between Brent Grose playing for us again or getting castrated. Painful and difficult.

He will get off today but not sure why his story should be believed now?

The girlfriend could have cleared this up months ago if what she is had have spoken up months ago about this latest version of events. I only say latest after he tried to pin the blame on his mate, now her, what next voices in his head???

He is a typical footy player that has been used to getting away with everything and still after this he will not put his hand up and take responsibility

                  Honestly, from what I know
His version of the story is how it really played out.

But the advice they were given is that they would win the first case on matters of law by not testifying.
The Police prosectuter and the judge may have been wanting to prove a point, I guess. And.....I dont blame them. The court in my mind should be a vehicle for the truth to come to light. Not using semantics to keep public matters private.
Police were called. It became a public matter at that time.

A laughable decision to overturn the original decision. The 2 of them have told lie upon lie throughout the proceedings, they refused to give statements to police about the incident and they refused to give evidence at the local court trial. Now he walks.
