He is a typical footy player that has been used to getting away with everything and still after this he will not put his hand up and take responsibility
Exactly BG, but whilst that American Bimbo is prepared to sacrifice herself for the bloke, things won't change.

Their story is very suspect, but because it's the only one that's now been told, it's been accepted due to lack of an alternative.

And the joke is the American Bimbo was studying to be a lawyer in the US, so should have had a slight idea of how the matter could play out if they were'nt straight up from the start. I doubt US law is that different from Aus.

That would be if she was in a "right state of mind"

Clearly, the defence argued that she was not.

      The police had an agenda.
Perhaps it might be a good idea to throw some weight behind "real" criminals.
      Not drunk NRL players.

Waste of taxpayers money because News Limited sell papers on the back of rugby league tomfoolary.
      This influences public perception.
The police are not immune to this.

What's scary is that you believe that....

Real Criminals.....PLease what a cop out that is. Cherro belts his missus he gets charged he pleads guilty gets sentenced to community service, apologies publicly and then moves on with life.

Bird on the other hand lies, wont make a statement, plays the victim, carry's on with like playing overseas. COmes back expecting to get off because the misses wont testify as she was up to her eyeballs on drugs at the time and he will go back to footy.

That backfires he gets sentenced to 8 months then he plays the victim....

The Tele is crap and they definately want to get him but he had plenty of chances to make this go away but he chose not to

He neither played the victim nor the perpetrator until today.
It seems you have diificulty understanding the facts.

Was Greg Bird high in drugs and alcohol??
          According to the evidence....no.
Did he maliciously inflict an injury on her?
          Not according to the victim
          Did he instigate the lies??
Unsure but in the light of the Daily Telegraphs witch hunts it would be the first thing that would come to mind to try to stay out of the papers.
Would Greg Bird have tried to save face if he was not a high profile league player??

And to compare Cherrington with Bird is simply comparing apples and oranges.

            Dont start with Cherington mate.
The facts of this case are vastly different.

And the fact that Bird has been found innocent means that all of the money wasted on this trial was ****ing wasted.

            As I said,
find some real criminals to pursue.

What facts ? The ones tendered today or at the time of the indecent?

Who would know what the truth is ?

What sort of question is "did he instigate the lies? it's like when your mum used to say if Johnny told you to jump off the bride would you?

I just get sick of these guys taking no ownership for things ? DO I know what really went on? of course I don't but do I believe anything Birdbrain and dimwitt have said to date no farken way.

He has had the conviction quashed I don't think that is quite the same as being found innocent and yes the two cases are completely different I was pointing out the way in which they were both handled

Trew, the case and the money spent would not have gone on for so long if the "facts" both Bird and his Bimbo tendered at the appeal hearing had been put to the magistrate first hearing the case.

Bird and the Bimbo have no one but themselves to blame for the fact it's taken them so long to have closure. They could have come clean over a year ago.

But instead they've wasted everyone's time and money by waiting this long to put their story on record. Don't blame the police for this suspect duo's lack of cooperation with authorities.

if they were genuinely innocent, even if they were worried that bird would be in trouble in the first place due to his high profile, why did it take the sentencing and the appeal before they testified... that to me seems suspect

Now you are blaming them when you should be blaming his lawyers.

They simply did what they were told to do.

Neither of them should have needed legal advice to realise they should be telling the truth straight away.

And the penny should definitely have dropped when Bird was charged and the case first went to trial.

Isn't the Bimbo a law student in the US after all?

They paid their lawyers to tell them what they wanted to hear. And it backfired.

They have no one to blame but themselves. But therein lies the problem, neither of them seem capable of admitting they did the wrong thing. It's everyone else's fault.

Sounds like a certain halfback a little closer to home.

                            IT'S WILLIES FAULT

If Pearce did anything like what Bird has done, I'd expect the Roosters to do what the Sharks did and punt him early on in the piece.

And even I cannot blame the Wanka for everything - most things, but not everything!

In fac the only good thing to come from this is that Willie Wanka has a slight chance of being picked up by LeCatalans if the Grubby Bird returns to the NRL.
