Mate how many quality juniors have come through the system in the past 20 years?

Ricketson, Fletcher is all i can think of.

The number of Souths juniors in the same time frame would probably be in the 100's. They have Sutton, Merrit, Reynolds etc all in their squad at the moment.

How many premierships have they won since 1971?

I've said this before and im sure many agree. I would rather have a premiership winning team of bought players than a mediocre team full of juniors.

How old are the boys in the sg.ball team? And at what age do you call a player a local junior? 12,13,14,15,16,17?

Surely buying lower grade rejects at other clubs and debuting them in our FG counts for something.

Will there be a DVD of this SG Ball GF that fans can purchase?
Surely one of our finest lower grade victories.

Or tape of the match fans could watch on their computers.

The cheese and kisses went to the match to cheer the boys to victory.
She'll be elated by their win.

            SG Ball is under 18's.

And i assume local juniors are those who simply play for any junior club, then go on to represent that club through Matts, Ball, Holden Cup, then first grade.

Great post Kegs....yes. We have got to end this local juniors crap fixation as it doesn't and cannot apply to the 2014 Sydney roosters in the NRL.

Maybe Mr Miller will know if there's to be a DVD of the game.

I wonder if the club will now use any of the premiership winning SG Ball boys in NYC now their season is over.

for those interested the club has posted a video of the boys singing the team song after the win this afternoon, great to see the passion from these young Roosters

Congratulation boys. Go the Mighty Bantams.

I should get myself a copy of the 17 players & put it away for 10 years & then bring it out to see how many of them make it to the NRL. I would say there would be probably 2 or 3 that will make it the other 14 or 15 will just disappear into the bottomless chasm.

As Phil Gould once basically said at a Roosters presentation night.

There's a limited number of spots in FG NRL, not every good player makes it.

The SG Ball players from the Grand Final today can take away from the game their trophy and the memories, even if they never make FG.

Without a doubt. It was just more curiosity for me.

I wonder if Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck will make it to FG.

The Roosters won the SG Ball Grand Final in 2010, funnily enough i was in one of the SFS private suites (first and only time) when they announced the team.

                              This was it:

                              Henare Wells
                              Paul Rokolati
                              Tautau Moga
                              Asipeli Fine
                              Eddy El-Zebidiah
                              Cheyse Blair
                              Jacob Miller (c)
                              Tai Tuivasa
                              Jared Allen
                              Adam Brent
                              Dane Atkinson
                              Inoke Vunipolo
                              Jason Antonelli

                              Daniel Arona
                              Keanu Te Kiri
                              Jarryd Clarke
                              Kane Evans

Obvious names here include Wells, Rokolati, Moga, Blair, Miller and Evans but the rest of i have no idea.

I should also mentionn that the Parramatta team they played in the final consisted of players such as Vai Toutai, Jacob Loko, Junior Paulo and Dean Blackman.

Thanks dude that's interesting. Getting a copy of this year Harold Mathews team will be interesting to see who makes it in another 6 to 7 years when they are 20 21.
