Forget Ferguson, and lets get hold of this kid.

    http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-leag...-end-of-season

He's a beauty, will cost about half of what we'd have to pay Ferguson, and he isn't on the sex offenders register.

Sure you need strong characters in the playing group. That's obvious.

But it all starts with a commanding coaching presence ... a figure that demands respect. See Hasler, Bellamy, Belichick, Sir Alex...

The players had no respect for Smiffy so they went off the rails. A coach is also responsible for getting rid of the deadwood. Something Robbo did by offloading the likes of Leilua, Masoe, Tasi.

      Hasler?

Under his reign Watmough belted his missus and a sponsor, The Stewart brothers got up to all their antics, and a multitude of other incidents. He also precided over Barba going off the rails.

I wouldn't hold him up as a champion of nurturing a responsible culture

Reports that the NRL is thinking about softening its stance on disgraced winger Blake Ferguson have angered current Wests Tigers utility Braith Anasta.

Anasta told SportsFan's Clubhouse that Ferguson had made too many mistakes and didn't deserve to return to the NRL fold until he had proved he had changed his ways.

"He (Ferguson) has had a lot of lessons and he hasn't learnt them," Anasta said. "He keeps doing the wrong thing.

"He (Ferguson) has made a million mistakes, so he has got to at least ride the season out and he needs to show evidence that he is making a difference in his life."

Anasta, who played for the Sydney Roosters between 2006 and 2012, also questioned whether sending him to Sydney's eastern suburbs would cause more trouble for the wayward satr.

"I'm not too sure the Roosters are the right club to go to," Anasta said.

"I've been there, I've lived there, they are exposed to a lot more than what other teams are."

The papers will absolutely hound him from day 1. The tele will have their goon squad of photographers following him around just waiting for him to slip up, and slip up he will.

I trust Trent, however I wouldn't trust that this was his decision. On top of which while Trent has been proven to be able to develop a killer game plan and get players working to it, we haven't really seen how good (or bad) his recruiting strategies are just yet given he it still effectively working with an inherited squad
Michael Jennings wasn't a bad acquisition?
And his removal of all the dead wood in the squad such as Takarangi, Tasi, Masoe etc. provides a pretty good indication

That's where he gets credit IMO.

He came in with a clear plan of how he wanted to play the game and he got rid of the blokes who couldn't get the job done.

And I've seen many teams improve quickly with great attack but to do it with defence is much harder.

Robbo is a champ, hope we have him for 15 years.

anasta can shut his pie hole up and go and get f***ed!! He's just a useless carnt anyway, can't play for $hit and was too scared to face us last year and again on the weekend just gone!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                    Here's looking at you, kid.

I agree with Braith on this one. Putting my intense dislike of Blake aside, surely this past weekend's issues go to show us all how much our players really are under the microscope. This story of Pearce's is only growing legs as the week goes on and we don't need this distraction with a game up in North QLD to prepare for. What on earth are they going to do if and when Blake does come? He said he likes eating in pubs because he enjoys the schnitzel. The media will no doubt make an issue every time he leaves his home. As much as I dislike the man, intense media scrutiny can make or break someone these days. Look what happened to Ryan Tandy and no-one deserves to end up like that. For the sake of his own sanity and health I really hope he doesn't come because the media have shown how they can behave like hellcats when it comes to our club.

                                Some good points rwb.

It could be a lose-lose situation if Ferguson signs with us.

Credit to Braith for actually expressing an opinion and not coming up with the usual vanilla PC nothing statements of most footy players.
